10 minute millionaire.

Hi I'm Megan, or you can call me Meg. I've wanted to tell someone my story for a while now but never really had the courage, so I guess writing it on paper is all I really have. I'm 16 and live with my Nan and Grandad in a little village called AppleHill. We live in a minuscule cosy cottage with a huge log fire and a thatched roof, quite vintage if you ask me. My parents passed away when I was 5 and so I've lived with my grandparents ever since. Here's the story of how I became a secret millionaire, enjoy.

One day me and my bestfriend Jaz were walking home from school, quite like any other day really, only this day it was boiling hot. I remember because we stopped and got icecreams. We chatted and chatted for ages until we parted ways to go home, only I felt like taking a stroll by myself and kept walking awhile longer. I walked round the mammoth woods which surround our village. As I was walking I came across a briefcase, nestled between a bush. It caught my eye as the silver buckle glistened in the reflection from the sub. I went and investigated the briefcase as it really intrigued me. As I came closer I realised it was already part open and that in the suitcase was at least millions of pounds. I stood and stared for awhile as I had never seen that much money before being from a not very well off family and all. I panicked, I didn't know what to do, my heart was beating so fast I could feel it in my mouth. That's when I did the most spontaneous action of my whole life- I grabbed the briefcase and ran. I didn't know where I was running to but I just ran. I wasn't quite sure why I was running, it's not like I was being chased, I just felt like I had the most precious thing in the world in my hand. It wasn't very heavy to say what it contained. I kept on running like a free horse galloping through water. I felt free. As I finally exited the woods I sprinted the last 5 minutes until I reached my cottage. Nobody was home a it was grandparents weekly shopping day. I swiftly ran to my room and excitedly placed the briefcase on my bed. Hesitantly I opened it, only to be let down, for the money that was once there had gone, as if by magic. I felt sick. All the thoughts of what I could of done with the money ran through my mind. All that was left in the box was a note saying "less is more" weighed down by a stone. "less is more" I pondered this statement for a while. Maybe I was never meant to have that money, maybe mum and dad took it away from me. Because we all know, fortunes murder the soul.
