I punch in my mom's cell number. Snow that's falling chills me. A cold breeze freezes my cheeks, my nose, and even my eyelashes. My mom picks up and with a quick breath, I explain what happened. I'm stuck in the park, and my bike is frozen. I can't ride it with a flat tire and the mettle is to cold. She tells me to wait and she'll be there in a minute. Soon her car pulls up to the curb but skids to a stop. I get in and warmth spreads across my face, sending a chill down through my body.
Instead of driving home, mom stars driving to the grocery store. She finds a parking space and stops the car. "I'll be a while." She says. She locks the car and walks inside. The last thing I hear is the click of her heels. I go on my phone and play on my apps until a sound wakes up my brain.
A screeching and lights. I look out the dusty window. I scream at what I see. A car speeding towards my car. It hits and my vision goes black.
Sirens are shrieking around me. I can hear the hum of cars and something else. The same click of moms heals. I try to open my eyes. Two men lifting me on a stretcher. In the ambulance there doing something. My eyes float up to one of the men. A clothe under my head soaked in blood. My eyes flutter to my mom griping my paper white hand. I'm not afraid if I die. No worries now. I am almost completely sure I will see her in heaven.
I open my eyes. I'm in the hospital. I see my mom with tears crawling down her cheeks. "I love yo..." I can't finish. All I know is the beeping of the machine has stopped and everything is white.
My skin burns but like when you enter a house after being in the cold for a long time. I can feel my self lifting. Now I feel lighter. Around me feels how you would imagine being in a cloud. Cool on my skin. It feels like tiny rain drops covering my skin. I feel my eyes closed. I open them. I'm standing in front of a white mirror. Everything here is white. Where am I any way? The mirror in front of me is sparkling. My skin is perfect. Not a scratch from the crash. Not even a freckle that used to dot my face. I touch my cheek. Smooth and soft. My blue eyes shimmer. I'm even in white close. An echo-y tap behind me. I spin around. A door. The handle's cold on my fingers. I twist the knob and the door clicks. I walk in a pure white version of my old room. A sizzle behind me. The door is gone.
I find a difference in my room. A remote with a single button sits on my bed. I crawl on my bed. I press the button. A screen appears in front of me. It shows the time. It's right now I guess. The screen now shows my mom. She's sitting beside my lifeless in the hospital. She's crying. I twist the button to the left. It rewinds to my death. When my eyes flutter shut. I frown. Now I know I really am dead. I blink back tears. A voice echos through my room. "Hello. Welcome to half way heaven. You are now half way to heaven." It bounces around in my head. Not in heaven. Great. I pull the covers over my head. My eyes are closed but I see everything. I want to go back I whisper into my pillow.
I wake up with a ringing of a bell. A bell as soft sounding as chimes. I blow air between my teeth. I sit up to find a tray with a meal on top of my lap. Just there like...magic. I stuff my self with the flaky roll and cereal. A pair of white wings flutter in with a scroll. I unroll the scroll and look at what it says. Life or heaven? It asks me. I pluck a feather from the wings and circle life. I'm finally going home.
