This sad story is about my poor relative, Mr. Yameen, who migrated from India in 1947. His first stay was Mirpurkha Sindh, where he got a job of blacksmith in a local factory, but due to low salary he left the job and he once again migrated to Karachi and tried to find a white-color job. but he had no education and he had only the experience of a blacksmith so he once again joined a local factory as a blacksmith where he worked very hard with honesty but he could not save money for his own house in Karachi due to being a low paid employee.
After getting this job he married a widow named Zubada Khatoon who had a son of first husband. she was an honest and wise woman who lived with old father in one room of the house. we can say it was a house but actually it was a shed of hours where English soldiers stand their hours before partition. His father-in-law had left vacant this shed for his daughter's use. Zubada Khatoon availed her life with her husband with full cooperation and moral support. after 2 years a daughter was born in his family and they were happy to see a beautiful daughter. and God also gave him 4 more daughters in time. Yameen did not dishearten but he wanted a son to help him in the future.
Yameen was unable to meet the expenditures in this low salary so he purchased a pier of hens and started selling their eggs and also used in their breakfast and lunch and dinner in day. time was passing slowly. slowly his daughters have grown and were able to go to school. Yameen remain worried about how he will manage the expenditures? he started to avail overtime in the factory and the result was that he had become a patient of asthma but he did not care and tried to give full support to his family. he tried to fulfill all the demands of his daughters but after hardworking he could not give them an education and their own big home.
One day he called me when he was seriously ill and he said to me that his wish was "he die during his service." the result would be that the factory would give his family double pension and other extra benefits for those who die during service and his family may then be availed and enjoy axillary life. I was surprised to listen to his wish. Yameen was still thinking about his own daughters when he was badly ill. He also took a promise from me to look after his family after his death and after a few days God accepted his wish and he died during his service and the factory gave all kinds of benefits to the deceased employee, and Yameen's family has been become a rich family. they have their own home and other facilities of life. his 2 daughters have been married and are living good, and I think about Yameen that what kind of man he was?
