Lovely Wedding Present.
Lovely Wedding Present

My name is Peter James and my wife’s name is Amanda. We have two very beautiful daughters Susan and Samantha. I used to work as a news reporter for a famous news reporting company. My wife too used to work as a news reporter in the same company. I met her first time in the office, and then we both fell in love and got married. Susan is our youngest daughter. My wife had to give up the job after her birth. Samantha is our eldest daughter.

It was our seventh anniversary, and I purchased a new house for my wife as a wedding present. The house was a duplex and located in two acres of land. When I took my wife and children into the new house my wife loved the house very much. She thanked me for that; the children were running all over the house. We went to have dinner at a Five Star Hotel at night. By the time we returned home it was 12:00pm. We slept. I woke up in the morning at 7 and went to the work. I returned home at 5 in the evening. I saw my wife was eagerly waiting for my arrival. She asked “how was your day?” I kissed her and said it was great. At 1:00pm while we were asleep my younger daughter came running to our room shouting “daddy.” I asked “what’s the matter?” Susan said that she had a nightmare. I consoled her and we all slept in one room.

Next day on my way to the office I stopped at the coffee shop for hot coffee. While I was drinking my coffee a person called me and asked “how are you?” I had not seen him before. I asked “who are you?” “Dr. Franklin,” the person replied. He asked me about my routines. I said I was happy with my wife and two kids and my job as a reporter. He looked at me surprisingly. We talked for some time and we left. After a few days we both met once again. We both went to a hospital. I asked him what kind of a doctor he was. I was completely shocked by listening to his words. He said that he was a psychiatrist and I was his patient. “I was your patient?” I asked hilariously. He also said that my wife and two daughters’ were killed in a fire accident in the same company in which I was working three years ago, and I was kept under mental asylum for two years. I couldn’t agree with his words because I was going to the office and being with my family every day. If that was true, where I was going and with whom I was spending all those days? He said that I was completing living in an illusion life, thinking myself as if I was going to the office and being with my family. He also said that he followed me to my house without my knowing from the coffee shop; there he observed that I was just talking to myself in a very dark room as if I was talking to my wife and daughters. He also said that I just used to go to the office where I worked before the fire accident and just would sit on the ground imagining that I was working in the office. I stood up from the chair furiously and went to my home. The house was completely dark. I called my wife from outside, but to my surprise no one has answered. When I came into the house it looked as if it wasn’t cleaned for many years. I could see only dust and spider’s webs but nothing else. The doctor said that even in the hospital while I was undergoing treatment, I couldn’t forget my wife and two daughters’. I used to say only one thing all the time, that my wife and two daughters’ were waiting for me, so I wanted to go home.

Every time my wife used to say one thing, that she would always love me and be with me, no matter what ever the situation might be.

End.
