Starlight
Born 2001, F, from London, United Kingdom...A horse appeared in front of me, but it wasn't just any old horse: it had the loveliest golden shade of brown all over and he had the biggest, most innocent brown eyes. I ran over to him immediately.
"Can I ride you?" I asked without thinking, but he neighed happily, his glossy hair tousling in his face. I climbed on his back, discovering three books under the saddle: 'Riding a horse', 'Horse grooming', and a fiction called '30 years apart'.
"Cool. Might have a go at these" I told myself as the horse started to ride. Suddenly, my boring school clothes changed into a gorgeous scarlet horse riding outfit, with a shiny black helmet. The library turned into a lovely, sunny meadow with brightly colored flowers in every turn. The horse galloped over the flowers, across the field, through the valleys and he jumped over the hills. The time felt endless - but we must have stopped at some point because we were back in the library (which had very mysteriously turned into a stable). I noticed that on the saddle there was 'Starlight' written in fancy gold lettering.
"Well, you certainly are a star at riding, and you seem to light me up, so yeah, Starlight is perfect for you!" I cried. Then I put him in the stable, fed him fresh fruit (he was starting to droop) and I settled down beside him, starting to read '30 years apart'....
All I could say now, is that books are great. '30 years apart' is about a girl called Ruby who is 7, and her best friend is a horse. I thought that was a bit weird at first, but the more I read, I found out what a beautiful story it was. When Ruby had fallen off a cliff while riding Belle (her horse) and when she had been rescued, Belle had vanished. However, Ruby and Belle are reunited 30 years later. My eyes watered as I read. Starlight came in front of me while I patted his head lovingly.
"Oh Starlight, I hope I don't ever lose you." I whispered in his ear, but as I did so, the bell for end of lunch rung, and Starlight, the books, stable - everything - had just faded. I was back in the library with Mrs Marsh. The book Starlight had come from was on the floor, so I quickly put it back on the shelf.
"Bye Mrs Marsh, I'll definitely be back for the books - they are just great!" I called as I stepped outside the room. I stood outside, put my hand to my heart and whispered to myself "And I'll definitely be back for my dear Starlight, too."
