Spring Break Experience

Spring Break is just another week vacation given to the students to refresh before their big final exams of the year. Many people spend it in the beach or traveling to meet with their families. What I always do on spring break vacation is different from everyone else’s plans. I sat down on a chair all day and painted eggshells for Easter. Many people would consider doing this boring, but with a lot of imagination you can really have a lot of fun. For example, you can draw your favorite superhero or you can even write lyrics of a song you really enjoy listening to. The only thing you need is imagination. With imagination you can enjoy doing this all day. Despite this all, it’s hard work. You may thing of painting eggshells all day as really easy, but you have to be patient and delicate at doing this task. You have to be careful not to break the eggshell while painting them. Stating this only about ¾ of the original number of eggshells make it through the coloring part. The next step in doing these Easter eggs is putting confetti in them and covering them up with a mixture of flour and water, which creates an excellent paste for the china paper that covers the eggs up. In doing this you first have to wait for the eggshells to complete drying from the paint. You then put in a bowl all the confetti and with each egg you scoop the confetti and fill them up. This is done only to half the eggs. The other half is either filled up with money or just plain flour. When all eggs are filled with money, flour, or confetti we cover them up with the special paste and the china paper. After this we wait for them to dry up and we began to store them all up. After the eggs we eventually just played outside doing some sports. I also went to Matamoros with all my family to celebrate my aunt’s birthdate. The party was extremely crowded with many people I didn’t know. About 1/10 were known family members, the rest were either friends or just came because they saw that there was a party in the house. The party didn’t stop until late morning the other day about 6 am. That’s only because the food and drinks ran out. After this I came back to Brownsville to go to the park with only my family. We had a humongous picnic. There was everything from chips to sandwichon, a huge sandwich. We also played many sports. One of those sports was soccer, which was a really quick game of my family against a stranger family. We lost on the game 3-4, but had a great time. The finally came to where we had only one more day of freedom before we came back to school. That day I went to church, which took the priest about 2 hours because he felt sick.
