Collapse!

.....BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BE-
Groggily, the woman awoke, and hauled herself up... and flopped back onto the floor.
"OWW!!" She yelled, and hauled herself up again-with more luck. She lived in a high-rise building in Manhattan, near a casino, where she spent most her time. The room around her was small; just a compact bed, a wooden cupboard, and large window leading out to the balcony.
But...."Why's my lamp shaking?!" She asked herself, and then froze with fear. For it was 11 o'clock.
"BUILDERS!!!" she shrieked in terror, and she ran out onto the balcony to see a wrecking ball hurtling forward.
She smashed through the window, and bolted out the door. SMASH! The ball splintered through the walls, leaving a gaping hole in front of her. She turned on her heels, screaming in alarm as she exited her apartment. How would she get down? There were several options: the lift, the stairs... or jump. The lift would be too slow, and the jump would be suicide-
"WHERES RACHEL?!" She inquired herself. She had visited yesterday for a sleepover. Panic flooded through her.
She hoped she had gone down all alone, but if not, she would have to desert her. She hurtled to the stairs, just as the floor behind her was destroyed.
"Lets take a trip to SURFTOWN!!!" The woman hollered, and picked up a plastic tray next to her. She briskly jumped on it, and shoved herself down the stairs at top speed. Judging from the sound behind her, she was glad she had thought of the solution then instead of being trapped at the top of the stairs. Paying no more attention to the world around her, she flew down the stairs.
Finally, she made it through the doorway just in time to see the building collapse. She eyed Rachel in the crowd. She stomped over to her and slapped her round the face.
"that's for leaving me up there," she said simply.
"Hey, with your quick wits, Ruby, I knew you'd get down here! Plus, you needed the exercise. Ow!"
