Black. The dictionary says that black means, gloomy; pessimistic; dismal. Or even lacking hue and brightness. Sad, affected by unhappiness or grief; sorrowful or mournful. Well on this day, it was both. On this day, she lost half of her. Nothing could have made this day worse, but something did. She just let the rain fall on her. Drop by drop. The rain fell like her tears. She was not one to cry in front of people or show her emotions, but today, it didn't matter. Everyone else left. Alone she stood. She stood there until the rain stopped and the red, orange, and yellow colors of the sun showed from behind the clouds, and the sky showed little hints of blue from behind the gray. She stayed until his body was in the ground. Waited until both of their bodies were in the ground. She was so lost, so empty. When she entered her car she locked the doors in her car. The song "Forever- Faster Faster" was playing. She turned it up. Louder. Louder. Till it could go up no more. The razor cut too deep for pain now to uprise, but not enough to kill her. Not yet. Pain. Pain. Pain. Numbness turned to darkness and the darkness turned to blackness. All in a flash of light, she could see them. Him and her. She got to feel what she was longing to feel from the beginning. His gentle, soft, caring kiss. His warm, breath taking hug, and the soft warm touch of her daughters hand. She should have went. She could have done something, but what could she have done? Stopped the drunk driver? Slowed down the car? In realization, she couldn't have done anything. She was just glad to be where she needed to be. Standing side by side. Finally she was home.
