Dear diary,
So summers nearly here, the weather is getting hotter and my hair is getting lighter. You lay there for hours looking at the clouds. Everything is perfect, apart from one thing. Mario, I miss him loads, he’s all I can think about. Girls talk about finding Mr Perfect, well in my eyes he is perfection. I act as if I don’t care about him, but I do. He means the world to me. Though I cannot tell him, I can’t face the rejection and all the heartbreak again. I put my heart on the line and it got torn into pieces. Though somehow even though it’s broken all the little pieces still love him. Guys don’t realise how much courage it takes to tell them how you feel, neither do they realise how much it hurts when you see that they’ve moved on and you're still stuck in the same boat.

‘’Class be quiet please.’’ Mr Davies said.
Next minute I knew there he was sitting on the same table as me.
‘’Hiya, you okay?’’ Mario asked politely.
‘’I’m not too bad, thanks, you?’’
‘’I’m okay thank you.’’ Mario said quietly.

To any other person it would appear that this was a boring, plain and normal conversation, but to Brooke it was so much more than that. Since they drifted she had been waiting for him to make the effort and he finally did. Even though her heart was aching, she still let him in. She was so caught up in it all.

The lunch bell went. Mario’s friend Alastair came up to Brooke.
‘’Brooke listen, you know I’m good friends with you and Mario. I know he’s moved on, he was talking about this other girl earlier. He said he hated you but he seemed to have no reason.’’ Alastair said calmly.
‘’I just don’t understand why he hates me. After all we had before it makes me question whether if I ever knew the real him.’’ Brooke said sadly.

That night Brooke went home, and she knew she couldn’t take this any longer. Her new plan was to show him what he was missing. She changed her hairstyle, her clothes and her attitude. She knew she was bound to see him over the summer.

‘’Do you fancy going to the beach today?’’ Emily said enthusiastically.
‘’yeah that’d be good, a change of scenery and to get us in the summer mood.’’ Brooke replied.

They spent hours at the beach just sun bathing, and having a laugh and smiling. They could feel the summer breeze hitting their faces. In the far distance she saw an outline, of a group of boys. She could hear them shouting. It turned out to be Mario and his friends. Brooke collected her stuff and walked off. Mario suspiciously followed her; he started to run to catch her up. All of a sudden the rain started pouring and they both ran and stood under the bus stop.
‘’What do you want from me? You were the one that walked away. What’s left to say?’’ Brooke said angrily.
‘’Brooke, Things have changed. They aren’t the same anymore. You were the one that pushed me away, I didn’t think you were interested no more.’’
‘’Why come up to me now about it? I didn’t push you away, I was just scared, scared that you’d walk away, scared that I would lose you. I told you how I felt and you didn’t have nothing to say.’’
‘’You know how I felt at one point, but can’t we just be civil and be friends, I don’t want to carry on like this.’’ Mario replied.
‘’I put my heart on the line. I just can’t forget all those plans we made, all those memories we had, and now look at us. I would have done anything for you.’’

Brooke ran away from him, with the rain dripping from her hair. Mario stood there for ages like a statue. Not knowing what to do.
They both knew it was over.
That was the day she let him go...
