The Orchard
This is how Jack and Ann died.
Jack screamed, gripping his large guitar as hard as he could. A man was standing in front of Jack, wearing a scary mask. Or was it a child? Nevermind. Jack and Ann both screamed, jumped, and fell at the exact same time. Jack hit his head on the fence that advertised 'Flying Cows'. Ann hit hers soon after. They both died immediately.
Jack woke up in a field of grass. His eyes widened and he shot up. "What the hell!?"
Ann was beside him, also startled. Ann looked around her. "We're in a field of grass."
Then the flying cow came. It had wings of an eagle, but pure white, attached on his back. It flew like the worst eagle ever, though. At first, Jack wondered how those wings would support him.
The cow seemed to smile. "What's up? I'm Steven! Are you the prophecy?"
After an awkward silence, Jack stepped forward. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
The cow frowned and muttered something. "Great. Looks like I'll have to explain a lot.
You see, you're in the Grass-Lands. It's where flying cows live. I'm pretty sure it's Heaven, but for you, it's a purgatory. I guess you need to save us from the Shadow-King, so you can go to Heaven."
Ann started to bite her nails. "Jack, honey. I think we're going insane."
Jack ignored her and smiled weakly at the cow. "Erm.. what is the... Shadow-King.. exactly?"
The cow nodded. "It's this large and evil flying cow that lives deep in a jungle. One day, it threatened to destroy the Grass-Lands, and the prophet cows had visions of you guys. Oh yeah, and we also have magic bells."
"WHAT!?"
"Yea.. there's a special one for each cow. Once you put one on, you get some sort of ability. I didn't figure mine out yet." Steven sighed, which seemed impossible since he was a cow.
Ann thought that Jack was going insane. He seemed to be rather calm about this.
"Anyways," continued Steven, "some bells are special and powerful. Like the King's. So you need to destroy it to stop him, I think. Let's do that later, shall we? Follow me to the main Grass-Lands. My friends will help you."
Steven made a crazy-looking grin.
Before Ann could stop Jack, he nodded. Ann could do nothing but follow Jack the insane.
