Going Back
Born 1970, M, from Punta gorda/F.L., United StatesGoing Back - Robin
Robin was doing very well at the law firm and seemed to be going to be a partner. It just seemed like a dream to her, all that she had, what she came from. That her family was so poor that she had to go without so much. And the girls at the school would always make fun of her.
What she would not know is that her life would change with one letter. It was about her grandfather that passed a week ago and give her his house. That was one person who was always there for her and now he is gone. There was a darkness that came over her like a thing that went back to the way when she was young.
Tammy went to the house where she would pack up the things of her grand fathers. She knew that it would not be easy but it had to be done. There was that feeling like there was something in the house, it felt evil. Could there have been something that her grandfather did not want to share with her?
Whatever it was it became very strong when she went in to the study. There were some papers on the desk. she thought they were just bills. She looked at them closely enough to see names and the word slaves and voodoo and control. It was what that feeling was trying to tell her, that her family had owned slaves and controlled them with voodoo. It was a shock to Robin. she'd thought her grandfather was just a nice simple man.
As she packed everything up she would never forget what she had found. She knew that the rest of the family would never find out about what their family was in. It would be a secret that she would take to the grave.

All is not lost - Tammy
It was something that bothered Tammy when she was young. That every time she asked about the past of the family there was no response. It was as if they were hiding something. Tammy would think of what that history might of been like. Could there have been something in the past they just did not want to see the light of day?
Then one day she got a call from a lawyer to come to the home of her late grandfather. It was there that she found out that very house she now owned. It would be the ace that she could get the answers that she had looked for so long. There was that fear of what she might find and what that secret might of been.
It was just tammy in that house. she made her way to the study, where as a girl she loved to read the books that her grandfather had. There was one book all about history. She found that book. strangely there was a piece of paper sticking out of it. She opened it and it read:
"My dear child, I know this is my last day. i feel I have to tell you of the family and your dark history. That we were with the mob it was not by choice. You uncle was in trouble and they helped us. for the price we were to serve the mob. It was something we all were not proud about, that is why we never told you."
It was something that Tammy would never have thought of. It was like a kick in the teeth. She didn't want to know what her mother was hiding for so long. Now that she knew it she regretted knowing the secret. This would be something that she could never forget. She did not want to know what the family had to do for the mob.
As she sat on the porch she looked out at the other houses. Did these people have to do the same as her family or were they the only one that worked for the mob? It would be hard to look at the others in the family that had known. That they could of told her that she would understand what a person had to do back then to get by.
She went home and went on with her life with that secret in her mind. She did not tell anyone and kept it to the day she died.

Coming out of the darkness:
Robin is faced with a crime against her family
That night Robin got a call from a aunt on her mothers side. She told her that they found there uncle hung in the woods. It was said that he never went out after dark. The aunt thought that he just was going for a walk after losing his job at the plant. It just did not make any sense that he would kill himself. The aunt did tell Robin that the uncle did owe money to a man. She said that he was not a very nice person but they needed the money.
Robin looked at the rope and the tree there was something strange. There was four spaces in the ground and the only thing that could do that was a ladder. Could it of been that man that the uncle had taken money from. All Robin knew was that the uncle did not kill him self, the man's question was who killed him?
Robin was a csi but this case was one of her own family members. She had a drive to find the one that kill her uncle and put him away.
There was just something that bothered Robin why did it take a day for the aunt to report her husband missing. Things were falling in place Robin found out that she wanted the uncle dead. That in fact a friend saw the very man she said gave money to the uncle kissing the aunt.
There was one thing that aunt could not hide was her hand it had rope burn on it. It could of been she tried to do the job her self but found out she needed help. So robin found out that it was the lender and the aunt that killed the uncle. It seemed strange that she was not shocked at what had happened. That part of the family was a little on the strange side.

Where to go now

It was the news that Tammy never wanted to hear. That her father had been murdered in a ally way downtown, there was the one thing was why was he on that part of town. The past year he was going on the south side of town. Tammy's mother thought that he had someone over there that he was seeing. The thing was that there was no proof of that things were as normal as they could be. It was just that he would leave for the day and come back with out a word.
Tammmy had to know what was over there any why he had to be gone all day long. She made her way over to the south side of town to find the truth. There was so much that was going though Tammies mind of what it might be. It could be a kid he had over there or drugs or the she drew a blank. She made her way down the streets of the south side there was something on a piece of paper a address 1001 james st. She came to the place not a bad looking place.
She saw a women on the stoop and walk up to her. Before she could say a word the women face went white. "You Jonny's girl he would talk about you all the time. Your father help get kids out of gangs and the gangs wanted him dead." Tammy knew that it could of been one of these gangs that killed her father. "You know that he was found in ally way by your house dead. So you think it could of been one of these gangs?"
"Yes he was getting kids to give up the gang life. That was hurting the gangs from making money. These kids did anything for the gangs"
what Tammy found out was that all the help that her father gave these people repayed him by killing him. She just left it just like that Tammy did not want end up like her father. That was the reason that he was gone so long he was helping gang kids. Tammy was proud of her father at that point and knew she had to keep it going that would be what her father would want. Even thou she did not know who the one that killed her father. She knew these kids need a chance to make a life for them self and the gang life was not it.

There was a note book and things that he use on people and what had worked well and things that did not. It was just something that Robin could not under stand such a good man with such a dark side. She was told that he was the strange one of her mothers side. It just did not seem that it was this strage and dark. It could be the reason that he keep to him to him self and that no one real knew what he did in the basement.
All Robin could do was just get rid of all that stuff and just for get about it. That was better said than done for the question came up could she do something like this. Was it in her to end a life thatwas something hat she did not want to think about. It was just something that she just could not forget about. What is Left
It is about Robin has to deal with strange things that happen after she picked up a piece in N,Y.
It was a beautiful piece, Robin thought to her self as she looked at the mask. There was just something that she did not like there was a felling that she got from it. Robin thought that it was all in her head and just brushed it off. It was that it was some tribal mask from west Aficia. She found out after she bought the mask that strange thing started to happen.
It was that she would get up and books would be moved and the couch would be moved. She did not think of any of it till tone night that she awoke to see a man dressed in tribal wear. "You have to take back the mask or you will regret it." That was all that he said. That felling that she had when she had first saw the mask was back.
Robin went on line to see the history of the mask and why she had that man visit her. It was said that this tribe there was no name strangely. That they had lost a long standing war that had gone on for many years. That those that were victorious took that what was most valuable to them. In what they took was a mask that was use to torture those that went against the tribe. It was said that the one that wore the mask would go crazy and kill him self. It went on to say that the mask had the souls of those that had killed them selves. And the one that owned the mask was in danger of going crazy like those that had wore the mask.
That was all Robin needed she went back up to New York to bring the mask back. There was a old black man that she had not seen before but she gave him the mask. Then she looked into his eyes to her shock it was the man that she saw that one night. It could of been the son or a younger version of him. He took the mask and went into the back and never came out. Robin stood there for a moment.
A young man came out from the back. "Can I help you."
I was just waiting for that older black man to come back with my money. The young man just gave Robin a strange look.
"I am sorry we don't have anyone like that works here."
Robin said nothing but just went on her way. THat was something that she just could not get out of her mind. Well the mask is where it belongs. And everything went back to the was it use to be.
