Her Prince Charming
Born 1996, F, from McDonough Georgia, United StatesHer pride hit the cold ground as she saw the tail lights fade into the lonesome summer night. Her name was Arizona and the so called “man of her dreams” has just broken her heart, I mean right in two. She had dated this boy for six years and was sure that he was the one. Arizona was distraught and completely thought her life was over. She was now sure that she would be single the rest of her life. She began looking for love in every dark corner that would only bring her further hurt. She started dating any boy she could find and even turned to alcohol and drugs to ease the pain of her loneliness but none of it seemed to be working.
A year of emptiness and searching had passed by and she had met up with a lifelong friend of hers during high school that she had not seen in years. They caught up on life and Arizona had told her all about the break up. Her friend named Jessica could tell that Arizona was struggling so she invited her to come to church with her at some point in the near future. She was hesitant but decided she would give it a shot.
It was a brisk fall night when she decided to go. The college group was having a bonfire that night at church. When they got there everyone was singing, laughing and having a good time. As the night went on she could not help but take notice of a boy sitting on the opposite side of the fire. No guy had ever grabbed her attention like this and she couldn’t help but introduce herself. As she did they began a conversation and the small talk she had been expecting turned into an hour talking about how much they had in common. His name was Easton and there was an obvious connection immediately between the two. Arizona continued to go to church and got to know Easton better each time. It was not long before the two started hanging out outside of church. Every time she was with him her stomach would be full of butterflies. She felt so secure with him and had so much fun with him. Months went by and Arizona was able to love again. She was truly in love with this boy.
They spent two years of going on spontaneous dates, laughing their heads off and falling deeper in love every day together. One spring evening Easton called Arizona and asked her to go hiking with him. This was nothing out of the ordinary because they were always doing things outdoors. When he came to pick her up they drove two hours to a beautiful mountain with an amazing view of a lake.
As they were hiking up this mountain he repeatedly kept telling her how much she meant to him. When they got to the top of the mountain looking down at the sun setting on the crystal clear lake she began to notice him digging something out of the ground. What she wasn’t aware of is that when Easton was seventeen he has wrote every characteristic of a wife he wanted one day and said when he found her he would propose to her at that very spot. He began to read these characteristics to her and she immediately knew what was happening. Tears started flowing from her eyes as she jumped in his arms agreeing to spend the rest of her life with her best friend. As she held him tight she heard a helicopter flying and it landed on the mountain picking the couple up and taking them to their engagement party where all of the family was at waiting for the now engaged couple to arrive. It was truly a fairy tale.
The wedding came and the couple’s love for one another grew stronger with every moment they spent together. Four years went by and they had their first child. Now they live in a beautiful home with four gorgeous girls. You cannot help but notice the love they have and wish that you had it. Their journey through life goes to show that just because you may think your trials will never end; there is always that silver lining there to give you a hope. And every princess awaits her prince charming.
