MY CHILDHOOD
Born 1994, F, from Maharashtra, IndiaMay 27, 2013.
Childhood, the only place where we had never given a thought on the questions like how? Why? Or is it right or wrong? I miss those days, from the bottom of my heart actually. The ecstasy, the fun, and the love, everything is on the top of everything. Our reverie’s is our life, our dad was our horse and mom’s arm was our bed. Cuddling on bed, playing with cars and dolls, assuming ourselves cat-woman or one of the Disney princesses, and living life king size, doesn't everything resemble heaven then?
Well, apart from everything, why on earth am I writing on childhood? Actually, today my sister, my brothers, my friend and I had played 'blindfold' and trust me it felt like I was on cloud 9 again. I found myself a 9 year old girl. Who was playing, and enjoying the lovely moments, which she won’t get in her college. Yes, Climbing over sofa and chair, giggling madly, having lots and lots of fun, reminds me my childhood days. The way I had played, the way I had fun, yes, everything and I started recalling suddenly.
Really, childhood is one of the greatest times ever. I remember the day when, apart from eating 15 Gulab jamun’s, I had demanded for Rasgulla to my Maamu. Oh please don’t dare to laugh. I know you can say pradnya that’s the secret of your health huh? Well, what can I say to you now? My maamu now used to tell this story to every member of our family and friends too. Oh god, trust me, those moments were totally embarrassing for me, yet I had enjoyed them.
Lying on the sofa and watching TV all day, moving everywhere idly without any worries, eating ice-golas in summer without thinking about the clothes turning dirty, playing in mud, playing football with friends, painting directly by hands without using any kind of brush and then using my clothes to swab my hands, dancing in rain until it got over, and so many things that I can't explain but it is in my heart, and it will be in my heart forever.
I do recall, the times when my cousins and I used to play hide and seek, 'blindfold' and carom for a thousand times a day. Watching animated movies as well as haunted movies were the best part of my childhood. I don't know but I had broken many toys of my cousins and then they used to hide their toys away from me. Every memory is alive somewhere in my heart till now. How great those days were!
The horror stories and the stories of witches at night, sleeping on the terrace and watching the beautiful show of stars and moon over us, is one of the best memories of mine. I remember, the hangout at Essel-world, Mumbai; a trip at Anand sagar, shegaon; and another hangout at Ramoji film city, Hyderabad; with my whole family.
Yes, I do remember each and every thing of my childhood. After all, how can I forget those golden days ?
Well, the thing is, everyone has a childhood and a child inside you, a childhood, which you will never forget. The memorable moments, the love and the fun you had, gave you a permanent but adorable mark on your thoughts. The adventure you have had becomes the best moments of your life. No one can grab those remarkable early days of you, from you. So enjoy the memories you have today, because those memories play a vital role in your life, to cure your pain, to cure your loneliness, to make you feel alive and to show you ‘who you are’.
