Big Time Rush Concert
Imagine this... you are sitting in a chair, but not at just any chair. It’s a chair near a large stage, knowing that your favorite celebrity is going to be blowing your mind in a few minutes. Isn’t that great?!
This is a story of one of the most special night that I’ve ever experienced, and that was the night of my very first Big Time Rush concert. Big Time Rush is my favorite group of singers, and actors ever.
Well, here is how it all started,
I was sitting in my room, with my sister, using my phone as I normally do when I glanced at my parents computer. I looked at the screen, and I was so amazed. When I saw a Big Time Rush concert ad on the side of the screen. Even though I knew that they were going to have a concert, I was still excited when I saw them on the computer screen. I asked my parents to buy me the tickets, and they said okay and clicked on the ad. I was not expecting that to happen. I got really surprised. My dad started to fill everything out. Since Big Time rush is popular, many seats were already taken. It was still okay because I got a great seat that was only about nineteen rows away on the left side of the stage. When the website of the tickets sent me emails about the concert, they made me so anxious to go to the concert right away. The day after everything was paid and set to go for the concert, I went to school and started to tell everyone that I got tickets to see Big Time Rush in concert and that I was really excited. Most of the people I told were excited for me. In about a few days, my tickets came. I put them in a safe place so I wouldn’t lose them. I started to count down the days till the concert started. Then comes the day before the concert. I was extremely excited and couldn’t wait for the next day.
After all that wait, the concert day finally came. It was on a Sunday. Before the concert, I spent a few hours at my aunts house. I didn’t know I was going to her house so I left the tickets at home. So my mom dropped my dad, my sister and I at my cousins house while my mom and my brother went home to get them. The concert was at around six or six thirty, so at my cousins house I called my mom to come soon so I wouldn’t be late. Turns out she was still at home looking for the tickets. I was really surprised and told my mom and brother where they were and made them hurry because I did not want to miss any part of the concert. At about five fifteen, they finally showed up at my cousin’s house. My mom handed me the tickets then we were all ready to go to the concert.
On the way to the concert, I was really happy. Finally we arrived in Downtown San Jose, where the concert was at. My dad walked my sister and I in while my mom and brother stayed in the car because it was too cold outside. I expected me to easily get in but that is definitely not what happened. The line was around an entire building. The line was crazy! My dad thought it was a joke but it wasn’t. We had to walk to the back of the line and the walk was very far. We saw people walking around selling cool t-shirts, but I didn’t get one yet. We had to wait for about half an hour to forty-five minutes, but it was worth it.
After all that walking and waiting, we were finally at the front. My dad said bye to my sister and I then he left. We went into the building where the workers were selling shirts, sweaters, and other souvenirs of Big Time Rush and their opening acts. Then, we went in the door with my seat number, I was amazed by how large the stage and how many seats there were! We went down the stairs to the aisle to where our seats were and was pretty amazed of how close our seats were. I was about 3 steps away from the ground, because there were stairs. By the time I got to the stadium, there were only about 60 people there. About 15 minutes later, the stadium was packed with lots of people! There were stage crew workers standing at the bottom helping people out throughout the whole concert.
As everyone took their seats, the room darkened. I expected Big Time Rush to come out and play but that is not what happened first. There were the opening acts. The music, of course, was extremely loud which I enjoyed very. There were two opening acts. The first one was Jackson Gunther. I had no idea who he was. He played for about half an hour and I didn’t like him so much. In the middle of his performance, I went down to check how much longer it would be because even though i didn’t like it that much, i didn’t want to miss anything. After his performance there was a short break. When the break was over, there was another act before Big Time Rush. Her name was Jojo. I kind of knew her so she was okay. I waited another half an hour and then there was another 15 minute break. There was a countdown on the board. During that wait, on the countdown board, they showed tweets that people in the audience were posting on twitter at that exact moment. Then at 1 minutes, people started to countdown aloud. It was cool. The countdown board introduced each of the Big Time Rush members. The audience cheered when their favorite member of the band appeared on screen.
At the last second, Big Time Rush finally appeared. Everyone cheered. I was very happy when I saw them singing. I was having a blast throughout the concert. They played most of the songs from the second album, Elevate. When they played the song, “Worldwide”, they brought a member from the crowd on stage and sang with her. I wished I had gotten called up. They then brought her down when the song finished. While singing their song, “Cover Girl”, they walked in the middle aisle front row. It was very creative. Then, they sang their last song. They said goodbye to everyone and left the stage. One of the best nights of my life was almost finished. My sister and I called my parents to pick us up but there was traffic so we were waiting in front of the stadium for a while. Many people left. There were people walking around selling Big Time Rush concert shirts. I wanted one but instead, my sister bought one and she kind of shared with me. Finally, I saw my dad running towards me. Then, I left. I told my parents how much fun I had.
Days after, I think back and imagine how much fun I had that day, February 19, 2012. This is the story of one of the most amazing nights I have ever experienced. Ever since that amazing night, I have hoped to go to another Big Time Rush concert.
