Staying awake

Staying awake
Pulling the itchy sheets over my head, I shivered. My head crashed down just below the pillow. I tried, I swear, I tried not to sleep. But for the last two nights I hadn't slept, and therefore I was tired.
So in a matter of minutes, I was asleep.
There was the boy, wearing black converse and a sad smile.
"I thought you weren't coming back." He said.
I shrugged. "I have to sleep." The icy wind brushed against my bare arms and I shivered for the second time that night.
"I'm sorry if I made you scared. It's just... I'm not who you think I am. You know me when you're awake, I'm very close to you."
My eyes widened in shock. I took a step back, my feet landing on pebbles.
"I'm Jack. Your boyfriend."

I awoke with a cry, fumbling around on my dressing table that was situated next to my bed for some reason. Finding my phone, I called Jack. I wanted to know if the boy was lying.
"Tell me the truth," I began, "I see you every night, yes?
"Yes," he sighed, "I was waiting for this question. I'm a dija, that's a person who can put themself into different places and appear as different people."
I swore, my words echoing.
"No...,you're crazy! I don't believe you!"
"Believe me. Trust - didn't we agree that trust means everything?"
"No, I think that was another girl!" I snapped.
"I'm the boy in the black converse, wearing a sad smile. I can read thoughts too."
"So can I," I grinned, fangs protruding from my gums. "I'm a vampire, Jack."
