The brave dog

Once, there was a little boy named Peter. He was a huge fan of dogs. He always asked his mother to have one dog. But she wouldn't let him. One day, he asked his mother again the same question.

Peter: Mom, can we have a dog?
Mom: Why honey?
Peter: Because, I love dogs! I want to take care of a dog. mom please?
Mom: NO!
Peter: Why?
Mom: Remember the last time we bought you a cat? And it was last year of your birthday?
Peter: Mom! I really don't want a cat. But I tried to take care of it... I didn't know that cats hate water! I only study about dogs! not cats! Now please?
Mom: Sorry honey, but no is a no...

(Peter's dad came home, and saw his son crying)

Dad: What's wrong Peter?
Peter: I asked mom if we can have a dog. But she wouldn't!
Dad: Remember the last we bought you a cat? And it was last year of your birthday?
Peter: Dad!
Dad: Son! what is it?
Peter: Dad, you and mom are just the same... I am going to my room!

Peter was expecting a lot when his dad came home and asked him about the dog...

10 months later, it was Peter's birthday! But he was very sad because the present that he would receive is another toy dog like the last 2 years before his parents bought him a cat. When Peter went downstairs he was surprised that his parents prepared a very special cake and spaghetti that he always loved.

Mom and Dad: Happy birthday Peter!
Peter: Thanks.. (Peter was sad)
Mom: What's wrong?
Dad: Your mom and I made this all for you!
Peter: Yeah, I know... (feeling wanna cry)
Mom: (Holding the hands of Peter) Peter, why don't you take a bath and come back here later for lunch ok?
Peter: ok... (feeling sad)

After Peter took a bath and went downstairs, the house was very quiet... His parents weren't there! But one place he didn't check is the backyard. Peter was very scared that he was alone in the house.. Suddenly, he heard a bark!

Peter: Is that a puppy?!

The bark was getting louder and cuter !

Peter: The bark was coming from the backyard. I better check it out...

Peter went to the backyard to check if the bark he heard was a kid sounding like a dog, or a real dog barking. Peter was surprised! He saw his parents with a very cute puppy lying down in his dad's hands.

Peter: Dad It's so cute!
Mom: We bought you a puppy instead of a dog so that you can be with it for a long time...
Peter: Thanks Mom and Dad... (feeling happy)
Dad: Here son, you hold the cute puppy...

Mom: (Talking to Peter's dad) Honey, let's prepare Our lunch. We should leave Peter and his puppy alone.
Dad: Sure hon.

Dad: Son, You just stay here ok?
Peter: Sure dad!
Mom: Please take care of the puppy ok?
Peter: Sure mom!

Peter was playing with his cute puppy...

Peter: Boy! you always come to me whenever I whistle..
Puppy: Bark! Bark!
Peter: Wait that's it!

during lunch time Peter's puppy was very busy drinking milk from it's bowl. And Peter's parents are very happy that they made their son happy. They thought for a moment...

Dad: So son, What are you going to name the cute little pup?
Mom: yeah, you're right!
Peter: (Thinking) Hmmmm... I know! I'll call him Whistle!
Dad and Mom: Why?
Peter: Because whenever I whistle a tune, Whistle always come to me!
Dad: That's a very cute name son!
Peter: Thanks!


10 years later, Whistle and Peter had a very great time together. And Whistle makes sure That Peter will like no other dogs but him.
One day, Peter and his parents agreed to have a family trip in the woods. Whistle is very alert on this trip. Whistle always annoys Peter to go back home because the woods was dangerous... Whistle keeps on barking and barking and barking!

Mom: Peter?
Peter: Yes?
Mom: Why is Whistle barking?
Peter: Whistle told me to go home...
Dad: Why?
Peter: Because Whistle said it's dangerous...
Dad: (Patting whistle's head) Aw, come on boy. Don't worry. Everything will be ok.

When Peter and his parents made it to the woods, Whistle rushed out to the car first and sniffed if there was trouble heading for Peter. One Night, Peter and his parents were sleeping. But Whistle was wide awake. Whistle doesn't want his family to get hurt. So, Whistle stayed up all night...

The next morning, Whistle and Peter were playing "fetch" while his parents were preparing their lunch. By the second throw of Whistle's ball, Peter threw the ball this time farther! the ball was stuck on top of the tree. Peter and whistle went there to get it. Peter was facing the tree, thinking how to climb up the tree to get the ball. As he prepared to jump up there, he heard a hiss.... And, he felt a heavy object on his feet. When he looked down, it was a snake! Trying to eat Peter up! Whistle was worried. Whistle tried to scare the snake away. Whistle did scare the snake away. But away from Peter. Peter tried to help Whistle to scare the snake away! But the snake wouldn't turn back! The snake was hungry and Peter was the snake's best snack yet. While whistle was barking over and over again to scare the snake away, the snake was trying to go near Peter and crush his bones! And eat Peter right away! But whistle was in front of Peter. Well that blocked the snake's plan.

The snake had a back up plan.

The snake would kill the dog first then eat Peter. The snake snapped to shock them and bite Whistle at the back! Whistle kept on shaking to remove the snake from it's back.. Whistle was badly hurt. Peter took Whistle to the clinic.

The Veterinarian said Whistle is alive because the Vet removed the venom using His/her medicine for snake venom. But the Vet said that Whistle can only live a year.

Peter was crying while hugging Whistle.

Peter: Whistle I will miss you..
Whistle: (whimpering)
Peter: Whistle, I will always be your friend..
Whistle: (hugging Peter) (Whimpering saying "I love you")
Peter: I love you too Whistle...

The next year, Whistle died on January 1. Just right after new year. Peter will never forget his Best Moments with Whistle. The next week, Peter was at the backyard under the tree. His parents saw him there but they left him alone for awhile. Peter missed Whistle. Then Peter remembered something. Whenever he whistled, Whistle would come to him. So, everyday Peter would go to the backyard and whistle under the tree. Then, whenever he whistled under the tree, he would hear something. Something that is whistling. Do you know what that is? It was whistle, Whimpering "I love you" to Peter.

Peter promised to himself, not to have another dog. Cuz Whistle is his one and only Best friend...
