How Bella found a rainbow at Home

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Bella, who wished to see a rainbow. She had seen pictures of rainbows but had never seen one actually. Whenever it rained, she hoped she could see a rainbow once it stops raining. She would rush out every time the rain stopped and the Sun would come out and scan the sky searching for a rainbow… but she never could find one. And if it ever drizzled when the Sun was still out, little Bella was so sure she would see a rainbow (for she had learnt all about how rainbows are formed from her Dad and Mom), that she would sit for hours on her porch looking at the sky. But sadly, never once could she see a rainbow.

She painted rainbows in her drawing book; she dreamt of rainbows in the night and had this great desire to find out how a rainbow looked like. She asked her Mom and Dad when she could ever see a rainbow!!!

Her Dad and Mom knew that their little girl ardently wished to find out how a rainbow would look like. And so they planned a surprise for her, on her Birthday.

When she woke up on her Birthday, her Mom told her, “Happy Birthday Bella, you will see a rainbow today!!!”

She eagerly looked out of the window, but it was a sunny day… how could there be a rainbow today??!

She looked back at her parents and her Dad smiled at her and said, “Yes. There is a Sun out, but you are going to see a rainbow today, here inside home!!”

All excited, she gripped her Dad’s finger with her little palm, and eagerly let them lead her out to the hall. Mom took a CD out. Bella was disappointed. “Oh… No… she didn’t want to see another video on rainbows!! She wanted to see one in real!!”,

But then her Dad wiped the CD and placed it on the table in front of their window from which the sunlight streamed inside. And voila!! What was this? She could see the rainbow!! On the CD!! She ran towards the window, rubbed her eyes and peered again. Yes, she could really see those 7 beautiful colors arched in circles on the CD.

And that was not all, the next thing they did was still more wonderful. Dad made a rainbow, with a bowl of water!! He filled the bowl with water, took a mirror and a flashlight and created a rainbow by shining the torchlight onto the mirror!! She could see those beautiful seven colors in the water…

Bella jumped with joy. She had found not one but two rainbows inside home!! She could now create one whenever she wanted… It was the happiest Birthday for the little girl.
