The Tragic Titanic
Born 2001, M, from Liverpool, United KingdomThe captain with perfect etiquette, stared out upon the Atlantic ocean. His medals glistening in the light of the descending sun on the horizon. Thoughts of cheers remind him of the great honour he has yet to receive once he sets sail on the largest ship the world has yet seen, as it takes its maiden voyage. Captain Edward John Smith stands tall at the bow of the ship with his crew, all proud and finely dressed. His wispy, snow-white beard flows gently onto the captains handsome black uniform. Anticipation surrounds his heart as if it was a cage. In a short while he will be in charge of his crew, the colossal Titanic, and with it, the hundreds of passengers on board.
Days and weeks passed, all fun filled. Long lion days full of laughter, but for now, night surrounded all. The cold air slowly coiling around the ship as it navigates throughout frigid Atlantic water.
Many people occupied the corridors, the majority retreating to their cabins whilst others had started to arrive at the cocktail lounge, their night had only just begun. The sound of drunken laughter flooded the room. Glasses clinking in perfect harmony with the overhanging chandeliers. The smell of dry martini hitting their senses like a punch in a fist fight. The outlooking portholes, frozen. Suddenly the ship started to creak, followed by the unmistakable sound of ripping metal. The ship began to sway awkwardly. A distinctive whooshing sound arose from the engine room, amidst it are screams of terror and disbelief at what could happen next, actions taken now could be the difference of life and death.
Once the sounds of destruction had died out, all seemed to be safe. The crew had started to inspect the damage to induce what could have caused the horrible sounds. The drunks and others were also keen to find out what had happened, although they could not find their feet and were just swaying as if mimicking the ship itself. Once again the whooshing sound became apparent, suddenly the cocktail lounge door burst open, letting in the spine chilling ocean water. People became frightened and started to panic, their ankles were being strangled by the cold. Glasses and furniture started to fly about hitting the ceiling and the walls, a stray shaker flew out of one of the portholes.
Slowly the water seeped into rooms, quarters and corridors. After sometime the Titanic began to list and start to sink into the treacherous oblivion. Passengers had been lowered but many remain on the ship, hanging to their lives. Bodies were floating in the ocean, blue and lifeless. At this time everybody on-board had abandoned the ship, that was all except one man, Captain Edward John Smith. He knew his fate and was not scared of death, his last stand was here, in the Atlantic ocean, on-board the Titanic, in the room were it all began. Finally the ship sank, the cage that surrounded him had gone, his legacy, one to never be forgotten.
