The Killing Of The Nightray

"listen, you're the type of man that makes use of all that he hears. Let me tell you the story of a little boy, a boy who was despised by all. Once, he met a demon of gold who ripped out his poor heart and replaced it with bricks. Years passed and our little boy's skin slowly molted to become wood, his blood became wax and his eyes … became glass".

These were the words of Eliot Nightray to his odd companion, Lord Lucifer Grey. The two sat in the old mansion by the fireplace. A cold breeze moved the trees' leaves and created a shuffling sound, and that was all that was heard on that cold, winter night.

"Despite that brick in your chest you still feel the agony?" queried Lord Lucifer replying to Eliot's previous statement.

Lord Lucifer was no ordinary man, the amount of evilness in him could make the devil himself bow with respect. Between him and Eliot laid a hidden secret fighting to get out, and if it did their life would turn into living hell.

Not so long ago, in that same room and at that exact time the two men sat plotting to kill the old Nightray –Eliot's father- which they did. None other than them knew about it. After that Eliot became the new head of the Nightray and the two men never left each other's sides.

Unexpectedly Eliot had a little drip of conscience which started to make him suffer. That was the base of another wicked thought in Lucifer's mind. Simply, he wanted to get the job done and kill the second Nightray. If so, it would be killing two birds with one stone. Firstly Get rid of Eliot's conscience and secondly inherit all his fortune. Although Lucifer was not part of the Nightray, he was supposed to be. Soon.

Eliot's sister's wedding was close. Soon she was going to be the wife of Lord Lucifer Grey. Hence, by the death of Eliot she would inherit all the fortune and so would Lucifer.

The following night was the wedding. As the crowd was busy dancing and talking Lucifer approached his –supposed brother in law with a drink. It was beyond doubt that Lucifer's plan was in action. Eliot took the glass and Lucifer to his room by the same fireplace. Within an hour the deed was done, but not as Lucifer planned.

After all that time it turned out that Eliot's –glass eyes- were what to fear. Eliot stabbed Lucifer in the neck and shoved him in the fireplace. He then poured the drink on the corpse and set it to gold flames. While the vivid reflection of the fire reflected on Eliot's eyes, the –wax- melted and the blood started flowing again and a tear broke through those glass eyes of his slowly cracking the –wood - to reveal the human underneath. But it was too late.
