Blind Love

Blind Love(Keona Liuson) A blind teen girl thought she was useless.
Many teased her and threatened her.
She was scared, confused.
She tried to fight these fears by crying quietly in her room and not saying anything to anyone.
She thought those times were sometimes useful. She could think about her crush, her dreams, her future...
She thought how it would turn out for her. Will she be able to go to Paris like she dreamed?

She was 16 almost, but she didn't have any idea how she is going to make it into life.
Her whole life she had her brother by her side all the time but now her brother is in college and far away from home, she had no protection. No support. No hope...

On a regular school day, she would try to run away and escape the bullies in school and run to the janitor's closet until class would start.
She would sit in front where no bully would want to sit and she would ignore all the noise and just focus on her studies.

One afternoon, on a regular school day, she was getting some food in the canteen and she bumped into a school boy.
She didn't know who, but he seemed kind. he said hi, helped her with her food and let her sit beside his table.
Normally, she would think. He could be her Prince Charming, her knight in shinning armor, her hero...
He said in a low cute voice, "wait here."
She nodded and she waited.
The young man came with an envelope and gave it to her.
She opened it and found a letter. She didn't know what it said but she kept it.
When she got home, she tried asking for help to read it.

It said:

Dear Isabella,

Hi. I want to tell you that you probably don't know it, but I think you're very pretty.
You are one of the most beautiful girls in school and you have a great mind.
Please find me in school and go out with me. Please...

She was stunned, happy, crying with tears of joy!
She couldn't believe it. A guy thought she was pretty!
The next day she tried finding a guy named Jacob.
But no success. The only person she found named Jacob was the nerd.
He had a shrieking high voice and really thick glasses. It would be impossible to be with him.
Until, some girls became jealous about yesterday. they said, "How dare she! How dare she hang out with Justin!"

Justin? Who was Justin? I thought his name was Jacob!
She decided to ignore them and continue to look for Jacob.
The next lunch, another guy with huge muscles came up to her and gave her another note.

She read it and it was signed, Oliver.
She looked for Oliver the next day and it turned out no one was named Oliver except the school Janitor.
She was upset. What happened to all the guys who gave her notes?
She decided to believe those boys were teasing her and trying to make her believe someone would actually like her.

She went to her mirror, even she couldn't see and asked herself, what does she look like? Was she attractive?
She just felt a tear fall on her cheek.
She cried herself to sleep that night.

The next day, she decided to look as attractive as possible. She wore a floral dress, make up, a cute bow on her head, a jade necklace, and high heels. She rode a limo to school and distracted many many boys!

She was impressed with herself! 5 senior boys suggested to help her with her books but she refused...
She wanted to be the kind of girl who was sharp, and dangerous!

Everyday she would wear short skirts, 5 inch heels, thick make up and continue to be adored by boys.
She found out, boys didn't care if you were blind or smart, all they cared about was sexiness and riches. She became the most popular girl in school, but her grades went down down down down...

She was too busy thinking what to wear, what hairstyle to go out in, what color of lipstick, she didn't have time to study!
She had so many useless things in mind she didn't even think about her grades.

Her day would go on with her getting more greedy and greedy. She wanted to be the most beautiful, the most talented, the most sexiest! Until the word, the smartest came up. She totally lost her mind! She forgot all about grades and it crushed her to think of her grades!

She went home early that day and studied as hard as she could!
She went to school tired and messed up.
Everyone started ignoring her again but her grades wouldn't boost up no matter hard she tried because of too much failure!

A guy not so tall, not so cute, went up to her and said, "Just be you."
His name was Luke and he had lots of friends. He wasn't popular or perfect but he wanted to be her friend. Isabella thought it was a great idea.
Luke brought her to a tree.
He helped her climb it and see the world from the top.
She complained about it being useless because she couldn't see anything at all!!
He kept hushing her. "Ssshhhh! Sssshhhhh! Sshhhh! Listen!" So she listened. She could hear people laughing, dogs barking, leaves falling, trees dancing, crickets chirping. She described everything she heard and pointed out her world looked like from what she heard and smelled. Luke smiled.
He said "you're not so different than anyone. We see the same things from here." She was shocked and smiled. "Just be yourself and everything will be perfect"

Isabella was herself each day and Luke and his friends would stay with her. She continued having more and more friends. Just being herself. She thought better of herself.

She was thankful for everything, especially having Luke.
Everyday, they would find a better tree view and Isabella would describe to him what she saw. And so would Luke. It would give Isabella a better imagination on where they were. What they were seeing.

Luke and Isabella became great close friends. Isabella discovered that just being herself would give her a better life. Thinking less of herself let her down, but when she thought better, what she dreamed became better and better, she realized. Being blind was not something to worry about. It's just a unique experience. Who would have thought a blind person could see the world too.
