Phoebe sat down on the bed staring at the girl sitting across from her and gave her a small smile. The girl smiled back slowly, grinning.
"You know..." Phoebe started and rested her chin on her palm and the girl did so too. "I sometimes feel like you're the only one who understands me, we're in this together aren't we?" Phoebe nodded to herself, so the girl did too. Phoebe leaned forward, smiling once again. "We're the best of friends, I can just feel it." A flash of pain crossed Phoebe's eyes and she bit her lip, and tilted her head, her black hair splashing against her cheek. "I-it's not fair..." She rubbed her eyes and shook her head. "It's just not fair...I mean we're best friends and all, but sometimes...sometimes it feels like." She paused, holding back a small cry. "It feels like you're the," She paused again, shaking her head as she looked up at the girl and very plainly said, "Only one who understands me..." She muttered, rubbing her hands down her grey skinny jeans and grabbing her beanie, sliding it onto her head, then she got up, turned away from the mirror and headed to school.
