The Shocking Mistake
Born 1997, F, from South Australia, Adelaide, AustraliaOn Friday the 13th of March, Kyo asked Misao if she wanted to go for a horse ride to Sweet Creek for a swim. Misao said “yes” in a happy way. So they packed some food and water in a bag. They then hugged their parents good bye and got up their horses Flicker and Sprit. They galloped away on their horses. Misao loved to go for a long ride on her horse called Flicker and Kyo loved to go for a long swim at Sweet Creek. Misao was 15, she had brown curly hair just past her neck and Kyo was 16, he had short spiky hair, and they lived on a 21 acre farm.
It was at least an hour ride to Sweet Creek. On the way they saw lots of different animals. Misao’s favourite animal was a tiger and Kyo’s favourite animal was a wolf. Now they were almost at Sweet Creek. It is called Sweet Creek because it has sweet fruit growing near it.
At Sweet Creek, they looked into the murky water and they weren’t sure about going for a long swim, but after all that riding they were hot. So Misao jumped down off of her horse and into the water. She didn’t come up!
Kyo started to panic and started yelling out “MISAO, MISAO WERE ARE YOU?!” but there was no reply. He looked at the water and saw air bubbles. Kyo ran and grabbed his goggles. He dived in to the murky water to find his sister. When he looked around, he couldn’t see her because the water was too murky. So he came back up for air and dived back down to see her struggling underneath a big log.
So he went back up for air, he took a deep breath and dived back down deeper to pull the log away. He grabbed her arm and pulled her free and up out of the water. She was gasping for air and crying. He was finally able to calm her down, before he could even say a word, we heard a loud roar.
He looked around in fear trying to find out where the noise came from. Suddenly he heard the horses neigh in fright. He turned to see Flicker and Spirit galloping away. And a tiger walking closer and closer towards them. Kyo froze in fear and said “Misao don’t move!" but it was too late.
Misao was running back towards the creek. The tiger ran after her.
Kyo ran after Misao and the tiger screaming “climb up the trees Misao” but she didn’t listen. She jumped into the creek thinking tigers hate water like cats, but she was wrong. The tiger jumped in after her. Cornering her in a bunch of old logs. Misao screamed at Kyo for help. He saw a stick that looked sharp like a spear but it was behind Misao. ‘‘Misao grab the stick” Kyo yelled in fear. Kyo jumped in the water. He was heading for Misao and the spear, but that was a bad mistake. The tiger turned around. It lashed out at Kyo cutting his cheek. Kyo fainted. He was sinking. Misao was so scared. She stayed still while watching her brother sink into the murky red water.
Misao started to cry. She grabbed the stick, she lifted it up and smacked the tiger. It turned around and lashed out at her. It just missed her head. She dove under. But that was a shocking mistake. She smacked her head hard on the ground.
The next day police had found two dead bodies at Sweet Creek. After a tiger was sighted. One was Male and the other was female. The police knew the two teenagers very well. Their bodies where blue and purple all over. The police put them into a body bag and zipped it up in shock. He shed a tear. “We need to tell their parents.” He cried.
There was a knock at the door. That must be Kyo and Misao their mother said in joy. She opened the door to see the police. “I’m sorry, but Kyo and Misao are dead, they were attacked by an animal, we believe it was a tiger.” Their mother dropped to the ground in tears, followed by their father sobbing in shock. “We are terribly sorry for your loss.” The policed said crying. The police left their house. The parents sat there and tried to take in what had just happened. Their precious kids were gone. All they wanted to do was to be with their kids one last time.
