How Unique Are You?
Born 1950, M, from New Orleans/Louisiana, United StatesHow Unique Are You?
When you were born your mom saw you for the first time. When you were put in the room with all of the other babies she could pick you out immediately. You were unique for the first time in your life, in someone else’s eyes.
When you went to school you saw all of the other kids in your class and not one of them looked like you, which once again made you unique, in everyone else’s eyes.
As we go through life we learn lessons from our parents, relatives, teachers, friends, acquaintances, etc. We are all unique in our own way because we pick up small pieces of the puzzle of life as we go and what we do with these pieces makes us who we are.
Who are you, what do you want to be, what are your goals? Did you find out who you are, did you achieve what you wanted to be, were your goals fulfilled?
Most of us don’t spend a lot of time thinking of these things, we just take it one step at a time, one day at a time, until we wake up one day and we’re old. Every moment gets all bunched up over time and all of a sudden 50, 60, 70, 80 years have gone by and we sit back and think, where has the time gone, how is it possible that it went by so fast? Your first day of school seems like it was not that long ago. How did we get to this point? Many of our friends and family are gone, why are we still here? We are again unique simply because we’ve out lived many of the people we’ve known.
We are old now, but not so old that we can’t pass on what we have learned. Know that this journey can be a fun experience if you so choose, but at one point stop and ask yourself, How unique am I, in my own eyes?
