The start of something magnificent...
Born 1992, F, from Victoria, AustraliaWhen the world around me becomes dark and restless, or cluttered with things that do not make sense, I run to shelter myself in the forest where I know my Father is waiting to embrace me. The rocky mountain peeks teach me how to walk with courage and not look behind at my past. The old mustard tree invites me up into his arms and feeds my soul wise comforting words. Small pools of water paint funny pictures that make me and my forest friends squeal with laughter. The animals, they teach me, the birds of the air, they tell me, the earth and the fish of the sea inform me. And sometimes, if I listen so very very quietly, I might be fortunate enough to hear the gentle breeze whispering hidden secrets, things I have never known.
This place helps breathe life into my dreams, a shelter from the outer world.
But even in this safe place there lurks an enemy. He sleeps in the darkness. He prowls the forest like a king, but evil rots the core of his soul. He seeks to crush everything in the land of the living. Out of his mouth come lies which steal away the souls of the most innocent.
But there is one. She has the power of beauty in her voice, one that relieves the weak, heals the broken and has the power to silence the enemies tongue. out of her mouth comes words of truth, peace and love that makes the enemy jolt and run. He despises anything that speaks such beauty. He hates her humble gentle voice and will do anything to snatch it off her lips.
However she fails to see the beauty she holds...
I peered over the river edge and became united with my reflection. Seeing all but failure and open wounds glaring back at me, I broke, and tears began to gush down my cheeks. River mother rose up swiftly to catch each tear. 'I can't do this anymore' I sobbed, 'How could anything beautiful come from this?'. River mother smiled and replied 'Oh sweet child, don't you see? the stem of a rose is covered with hurt and pain but with the right season it blooms into the most beautiful flower of all, one of love and incredible beauty'.
