Lost Lovable Companion
Born 1987, M, from Salem / Tamilnadu, IndiaThere is a village called Isiolo in Kenya. There is a medical scholar, Hendry Adam, from America. When he has completed his medical studies, he plans to do his research as the next level of health care for animals and human beings. So, he would like to move from America to Kenya, and he found a village called Isiolo. There he got information that many people were affected by some unknown disease. So, he moved to Isiola village.
He comes here with his companion, Ezra Senjuri, the most lovable of his beloved. Both of them have taken on the same project. For this project, they have to take any particular disease and find a solution for it. So, when they enter into the village there, Hendry and Ezra see lots of dead bodies who have been killed by the terrorists and army force. There is a war between forces. A few terrors. Many people were killed needlessly. They get scared to see the scenery, and Hendry loses his hope for his project.
Hendry: “Shall we cancel the project? It seems very dangerous for us. But Ezra believes that they will finish their project successfully.
Ezra: Don’t think so, we can do everything. That’s why we are here, unless we would be there in our native country and our government has given us permission to not stop the research before it starts.
When they reach the village, they find that few people are literate among them.
Hendry requests, “We are from Washington (DC), and we are coming for research on a disease for you people and to find a solution for it." Odango is the president of the village of Isiola. He is an illiterate man who looks like he has a rough temper. He has never agreed to others' suggestions and opinions because he thinks he is a wise person. But among the people of Obuya, who are educated as well as well versed in English in this village, he recommends them. Odango gets angry instead of approved. Then Odango sees Ezra, and he approves them to do their research in the village, and he assures them, "I will be of any help to you in any situation." He had been seeing her and assured them (in the Swahili language, Obuya translates Odango’s words).
Odango orders Obuya to take them to a home in that village. Later, Obuya arranges a residence for them, and he warns them.
Obuya: “You both should be careful with President Odango because of his lusty and dirty manners with all young girls, and Ezra also in his lusty view I think." So, step forward with attention. " Then Hendry and Ezra go to every home in the village, accompanied by Obuya. There they found lots of people affected by the killer disease AIDs. Most of the women are affected by AIDS, and a few men, too, including the Odango.
Hendry: “Now here, Ezra is going to announce the result.” Ezra reads out the name and confirms they have been affected by HIV. They don’t even understand what she is talking about. Later, a lady dies of the unstoppable loose motion caused by HIV. Hendry and Ezra had already told all of them this, but they didn’t believe it. Now they are agreeing because of the loss of a woman's life.
Once, when Hendry and Obuya went to canvas to the next village before they left their residence,
Obuya warns Hendry “We shouldn’t leave her alone here," but Hendry left her because she should take care of the village women. While Ezra is going to her room for lunch, the lusty President comes behind her without her knowledge. There is intoxication. She reaches her home, and Odango enters her home. Odango sneezes and coughs and signs her (muteness) to get him medicine. When she goes to take the medicine, he follows behind her and makes her an HIV patient because of his incivility and dirty behavior.
On the night Hendry comes there late at night, she doesn’t say anything about that to him. Later, Hendry starts researching for the HIV. There is a problem in finding medicine for HIV because the HIV virus is a transitive one. So, when the virus changes its shape and appearance, it eats the medicine as its food. Later, Ezra gives an idea to keep the shape of the virus stable, and Hendry gets a clue to solve the problem. He goes to an interior forest and finds one herb tree named "TESSYPUSAKO." Only in the season of summer can we get a liquid from that tree.
The tree looks the same without leaves in all the seasons, but we can see leaves in the season only in spring. Hendry has been waiting for the right situation, and he goes to the place where he has kept a laser injection for getting the liquid from the tree but shouldn't wound it. That is why he takes an injection and sucks the juice from the stem of the tree without making any trouble to the tree. After getting the liquid, he mixes it with some chemical, and after two months, he finds a medicine for the HIV. He watches Ezra most of the time. She maintains a distance with him.
Once, Hendry asks her while she is watching him in the lab: "Hey, what happened?"
Ezra replies, "Nothing! " And he doesn’t consider it because of his target. But she is longing for her boy and thinks about her future with him only in dreams. Then she calls him to tell him about her problem, but she denies saying it. If she says, he will not find the medicine for it. She is concerned about the future and the benefit of the people. For the test purpose, Hendry gives it to a chimpanzee. There is an improvement, and he gets success in his project. But when he is to convey this happy news to his lovable wife, she has been suffering from severe grips or gastric flu, and the pain is like a pang.
Hendry never expected that she would also be affected by the dangerous HIV virus. She tells everyone what happened when he left her alone. Then he utters and cries a lot, and he thinks to kill the cruel fellow, but he has already died of HIV. He tried to give the HIV medicine to her to save her life, but Ezra died when he moved away from her to take the medicine. But it is too late, and later he feels that the medicine shouldn’t cure the disease. Without discipline, this HIV will never be cured. So, he gives up his research and leaves that village. Then he breaks the medicine bottle and starts moving away from that village. When he moves from there, he thinks that he and his girlfriend shouldn’t come here for the research. She had thought about their future life many times in her dream, but he hadn’t so far even a single thought. His thought was that if we found a medicine for HIV, people would make mistakes forever. So, they have to be decent and disciplined throughout their lives, and he thought that’s why Hendry had lost his lovable companion.
