The horrendous plane

By Shannon Haime
Born 1998, F, from Beckenham, United Kingdom
View Author Profile

Here I am. As I sluggishly traipse up the stairs of the revolting aeroplane. I was petrified, of the deafening roar in the insecure wind. It was a nightmare. I was questioning my decision, but I couldn’t turn back now. I closed my eyes praying. Stepping into the beastly plane, with hope in my blood. I wished that there was another way to cross the sea full of innocent blood. The Atlantic they called it but I know that they were lying; you could see them, their sole crying the truth. Walking slowly down the aisles, I tried not to look at the chairs of death but I couldn’t. All I saw were the faces, just so peaceful not knowing what was coming and neither did I. The seats didn’t fool me I knew what they were going to do! Acting as if this journey will go smoothly and then when you least expect it they will turn against you, just like everyone on the plane would. However I tried my best to keep calm and not show my true feelings. The seats stayed on my mind. “Ladies and Gentleman we are experiencing some turbulence so can you please fasten your seat belts right away. Thank you,” the captain said over the intercom. We sat at the back off the plane on our own row I heard the engine start to rumble and we jolted forward as the plane was ready for our no return journey in the deep black sky!

Kelly acted as if nothing was going to happen. Even though she likes to sit by the window just to make sure nothing unusual was going on outside the plane.
She had to be the first to know!
Unexpectedly there was an immense thump in the engine; I jumped up rapidly out of my seat! I clenched my fists together and closed my eyes wishing that everything was going to be fine. Buckets full of sweat pouring out of my face it was like I was walking on the sun.
What do I do? Where do I go? Will I ever survive this depressing journey?
My hands were trembling as if they were about to fall off! I began to panic more than ever and my heart was thumping faster. It felt like time was going even slower. Loads of daunting thoughts were overflowing my mind. I looked out of the window. I saw a lot of smoke spurting out! We all knew that it was the end. That we couldn’t panic. The hard impact threw me forwards into the seat in front of me. I could see the ground out the window rushing towards us. It was scary sitting there hopping the pilot knew what he was doing. In the distance I saw a cliff looming towards us! I could hear people crying behind me. The noise was so loud that it sounded like an echoing earthquake. I had never been so scared in all my life, thinking I was going to die. Suddenly a rock hit the engine and the plane started rattling even louder. The plane hit the cliff. The crying, screaming and rumbling of the plane had come to an end.
I won’t be taking a plane ever again!
