A Path to Inspire
One day Mark was riding his bike when it began to rain. He started to feel cold so he looked for a tree to go under for shelter. Mark was disappointed when he struggled to find a tree. “Someday I am going to inspire people to plant trees everywhere,” he muttered to himself. He quickly rode his bike home so he wouldn’t get colder.
Mark Rosmeer is in fourth grade and loves to ride his bike every day. Mark’s beloved parents were named Vicki and John Rosmeer. Mark is always trying to find a way to inspire people and he goes to Rockwell Elementary, California. If this is not enough to figure out if someone is named Mark Rosmeer by looking at him he has dirty blond hair.
Once he got home, he got out his social studies homework and went up to his room to do it. But Mark kept losing his focus. He kept thinking of ways to inspire people. Finally when it was time to go to sleep Mark packed up his unfinished homework and put it in his bag. While he was going to his room he saw his dad trashing a paper which was used only on one side. He was about to stop him but it was too late. “Someday I am going to inspire people to use both sides of the paper” Mark pondered.
That night Mark dreamed that all the people in the world were praising him because he had inspired people. They were shouting “Mark’s the best, Mark’s the best, go Mark!” Next he started dreaming that he had just built many homes for the homeless. Suddenly Mark woke up. It was seven o clock which meant he had to get ready for school.
Once Mark was ready and on his school bus he sat next to his best friend Raheem. Mark and Raheem had been best friends ever since they met each other at Disney World and found out they had been in the same school all along. Mark told Raheem about the ways he wanted to inspire. Raheem had worked hard to come up with ideas everyday to help Mark inspire people but he had been failing until now. Raheem was quiet for a minute. Mark knew Raheem was thinking. He then blurted ”Maybe you could put posters around the school saying ways to inspire people.” Mark liked Raheem’s idea so he felt relieved. Finally he had a way to inspire people. “Of course Raheem, you’re the best.” Mark told Raheem.
Once Mark got home he got out eight sheets of poster paper. He made two say “PLANT A TREE FOR ME”. Mark made another three posters saying “PAPER HAS TWO SIDES, SO USE BOTH”. Mark made the last three posters say ”BUILD HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS”. Once Mark finished he put the posters in a pile which he set next to his backpack.
The next day Mark came to school early with Raheem so they could put the posters up. Mark greeted Raheem “Hey bud what’s up, let’s put up some posters.” “You got it Mark” replied Raheem. First Mark and Raheem decided to put two posters in the fourth grade hallway. Next Mark thought that they should put one in the cafeteria and one on each of the front and back door of the school which is exactly what they did. Mark and Raheem also put one poster near the bathroom, and one poster each in the third and second grade hallway. It wasn’t until nine o'clock in the morning that Mark and Raheem finished. After all that they went on with their routine.
Once Mark and Raheem’s class came from lunch they went to their teacher Ms. Manola to turn in their homework. When they finished giving their homework to Ms. Manola, she told them to go to the principal’s office. “Uh oh” Mark thought. Mark had never been to the principal’s office before, neither had Raheem. What if the principal had to punish Mark and Raheem about the posters because they never asked to put them up.
When Mark and Raheem got to the principal’s office they were surprised by what they saw. The whole office was decorated with plants. “Maybe this will turn out not so bad after all.” Mark was so into looking at all the plants that he didn’t even realize the principal had asked them to come in until Raheem nudged him with his elbow.
Mark walked in nervously and took a seat. “Now, do you know why I wanted to talk to you?” the principal asked. “No Principal Marcus” answered Mark and Raheem in unison. “Well I would like to thank you guys for inspiring people to help other living things. When I was on the way back from my lunch break, guess what I saw while walking through the courtyard. I saw seven fifth graders planting a tree and heard a few others telling someone else to use both sides of the paper and I’m pretty sure it’s because of your posters.” Principal Marcus told them. Mark couldn’t believe his ears. He had finally inspired people. He congratulated himself with a pat on the back. “Now you are dismissed.” Principal Marcus told them. Mark felt very proud. He had inspired people, but to do that he had to believe what he dreamed.
