Once upon a time there was a boy named Leonardo. Leo was a poor boy who was also very intelligent. His family owned a small diminutive farm. Leo was very hardworking boy who wanted a better life apart from being a farmer. He worked from sunrise to sundown keeping his family buzzing. Despite working all day he also volunteered in the hospital near his house. He helped the deaf and the blind by running errands for them or by also bathing them. Every person he helped was fond of him. He was very admired by everyone in the hospital.

One day Leonardo met an old lady named Patricia. Patricia was a very mean, halfhearted, old lady who only sought to make everyone’s lives miserable. Well, Leo got to meet her, and she was very cruel to him making him do things twice if he did one little mistake. For example, one day she had sent Leo to make an errand for her. She told him to give a note to a Man who was waiting outside the hospital, and give him a hug for her. He did what she asked him to do, but hesitated to give the man a hug. She asked him if he had given the man the note and the hug. He responded, ”I gave the man the note as you asked, but I felt uncomfortable giving him a hug, so I didn’t give him a hug.” “You did what? I told you to give him the note and a hug to him! Don’t you understand that the hug was more important than the note?” Leo was irritated that he had at least delivered the note and Patricia didn’t give him the thanks. He knew he had to get back at her for being cruel to him. Then he got it, he thought of robbing something from her, since she was rich.

The next day Leo went to the hospital at night to “volunteer.” He headed to the elevator that would take him to the 5th floor of the hospital, which was where Patricia’s room was. He went down the hall, hiding from door to door, afraid of being spotted by any familiar face. Then he finally reached Patricia’s room and went in. He looked in the bed and saw only a blanket and a pillow. He checked around the room and Patricia was nowhere to be spotted. This would make robbing her much easier. He stared in the closet and found Patricia’s bag. He put the colossal red bag in the bed and peeked inside. He found many things, such as jewelry and photos. He then spotted a golden ring hidden in a pocket. He took it, put it in his pocket and closed the bag and put it back. He exited the floor and quickly headed towards the elevator. He then got out of the elevator and left the hospital. He knew he wouldn’t get caught, because he left the bag intact, and besides, Patricia was blind and wouldn’t notice.

The day after that Patricia was up early and checked her personal belongings. She touched every single thing in her purse and counted in her mind. “812, 813, and…. wait a minute. There’s something missing!” She quickly summoned the nurse and told her she was missing one of her things. The nurse named Pedro thought she was crazy, because she was blind, and he insisted there was nothing missing. Leo thought he wouldn’t go to the hospital that day, because he was scared he was going to get caught. The next day he went to the hospital to volunteer, and Patricia summoned him. He thought to himself that he had already gotten caught, but instead Patricia apologized for being mean. Leo didn’t care about the apology and decided to keep the ring. Patricia had already figured out who had taken the ring by that time and decided to play a game on him. “Leo you know I’m a fortune teller.” She said. “Really, can you give me fortune?” He answered. “Of course let me see. Well I’m being told that you can’t rob anything from anyone or you’ll be haunted for the rest of your life.” She said. “Oh I’m really sorry I robbed your golden ring. Here have it back. I was only angry that you didn’t give me the thanks for delivering the note to that man. I promise I won’t do it ever again.” He said. Patricia had already approved his apology and told him that it was okay. From that day on Leo never robbed anything from anyone. He learned a very valuable lesson: “Nothing good comes from robbing, it only backfires on you.”
