Alone

By Megan Ratcliffe
Born 1999, F, from Lichfield, United Kingdom
View Author Profile

I woke up, empty, cold and alone. I have no idea who I was, who I am or where I am. My head is spinning and I feel drained from all the life that's inside me. I ran my fingers through my hair, rubbed my eyes and stood up, looking at everything and taking it in, all so slow. I wandered around the empty, abandoned house which I had been left in, searching for some clues of who I am and why I have been left here... all alone in the world with no one to help me. Abandoned. My heart's racing, and my stomach aches. I am scared, I have no idea what to do.

My stomach starts rumbling and I try to find some food. I search the cupboards and find nothing. Then, I search my pockets and I find some money, not much, but it should do. I opened the front door, to find... I was in the middle of a field next to a bus stop. This is strange. I'll have to get the bus, I guess.

I stand around waiting for the bus. 2 hours later, the bus doesn't appear.
So, I start to walk down the path as an old, mysterious looking bus pulls up. I run back up to the stop, and get on and it drives right away, without me even sitting down or paying. I go along with it, sit down and let it take me to any location,n as this place is a place I wish not to be.

I arrive at an abandoned town, with no shops open. Half of them had been rotting away over the years and falling down. I need food. I am starving, alone, cold and so scared. What do I do? I have nothing.

I begin to walk down the paths, and just let my feet carry me as tears start to fall down my cheeks, dripping onto my shirt. I start to cry harder, and I begin to uncontrollably cry.

Suddenly a large figure appeared in the shadows of the old candy shop. This figure stood there, in the doorway, pointing at me and telling me to come closer. I wipe my eyes, and begin to slowly walk towards it, not even thinking about what could happen to me, because to be honest, I don't even care anymore. I am alone and have no reason to be here. I looked at my wrist and all the fear inside the wounds came back, I was in a bad place and wanted to get out. I want to die. I start to run towards the figure, hoping to find some answers, BUT suddenly He pulled out a large knife, and I let my feet carry me, once again into the sharp blade which was shining in my eyes. I felt it pierce my chest, and I collapse to the floor. This was it. I was dead.
