Melissa was excited that morning. She got ready to go to the church. There she joined the choir. Things were never unusual. Her bright choir voice was just right. They all started singing, but unfortunately each person's voice rang to overshadow the other. Cynthia, the pianist, refused to play. She was a silent easy going intellectual girl. The teens choir of the school was always tops in what was going wrong. Tessy the head of the choir started up but Melisa energetically started too and so did Xarina who had an alto pitch. It was chaos. As the minster left the scene for the closing hymn, the organ did not come on till much later.
Something is wrong with the choir, Miss Robin rang.
"It is the pianist" Melisa said loud. "Cynthia, do you think we can't do without you?"
"What!?" Cynthia said ferociously, seeming to have something that could be tagged Mad cow disease.
Melissa was surpised. "Why did you scream like that!?"
"Yes you proud thing. Jealous of my lovely voice, it can do without your piano."
"Are you mad?"
"Sinner tell everyone why you don't receive communion."
Cynthia usually had outbursts. She searched around and pushed the chairs for Melissa who could not fight at the time.
"Tell everyone that sin that makes you never take communion."
She felt betrayed, she had confided in her that she called someone a bastard and for that could not receive communion, now she was being accused of something hideous.
Cynthia convulsed with anger aiming at Melissa. She was held back by Tess and Miss robin while she rained curses on Melisa who laughed wildly and later rained back her curses.
They started talking after friends brought them together and by instruction of the priest.
Melissa realised she was so paranoid and wrong. And worse, betraying Cynthia. They became friends again.
