What Happens in the Future?(Vivi Tri Oktavia) It was in the afternoon, I was done with my school. I went home with my friends by walking. On my way home, I found a book that has been thrown in the rubbish bin. That book catches my eyes. I’m thinking why there was such a beautiful book in a rubbish bin. If I had enough money, I would buy that book. The title of that book was “What Happens In The Future?” I was attracted to that book. So, I picked it up and I bring it home. I opened that book and start to read it.

7 children are born in the same day, date, time, year, and at the same city. It is October 17, 2050. As time goes by, they turn into 15. It was 2065. The 7 kids: Ricky, Christy, Boy, Stacy, Rafael, Jake, and Angel are best friend. The just realize that their birthday is on the same day and date. They study in the same school. And they just realize that they all have special ability. Actually, they got that ability since they were born. But they just realize it now.

Ricky has the ability to change the size of things. Christy has the ability to control, read others mind and she can know everything. Boy has the ability to control the time. Stacy has the ability to fly. Rafael has the ability to duplicate himself. Jake has the ability to control the space. Angel has the ability to disappear.

The 7 kids didn’t know their friends ability, they only know their own ability. Except for Christy, because she can read other’s mind, so she knows what ability does each of her friends have.

The world is peaceful. Until one day, a black spirit comes. It destroys everything. These kids here about the news, so they made a robot to investigate what has happened. While they are gathering the information, they also create a robot to offense and defense. They prepare everything to prevent from something bad happen. The 7 of them work really hard. Though they still have their school, but they keep on investigate and searching for what happened. They wanted to help so that this world will be peaceful again.

After they have gathered all the information, now they know what is happening. They search in the internet to get some more information. They didn’t specifically know how that black magic looks like.
But then, they fight. Each of them thinks that their ability is the only ability that could defeat the black spirit. They keep on fighting to show that each of them is stronger than one another. So, they decide to first release the offense robot that they have creates together. They keep the defense robot to prevent from problem that they might face.
2 days has pass, but the offense robot that they release hasn’t come back. Then, they read an article in the internet and they see the news in the TV that was reported by the reporters that their robot was crashed into pieces. All of the 7 kids were panicked. They got confused on what they have to do next. Christy has an idea.

“How about if we search that black spirit weakness?” Christy asked.
“Yes, you’re right, why don’t we think about searching that (the weakness of the black spirit) too in the beginning.” Jake replied.
“While some of us searching about the weakness of the black spirit, why don’t we practice with our ability too?” Angel asked.
“So, from now on, we stop fighting and start to work together as a team.” Stacy said.
“Deal?” Boy asked.
“Deal!” they answered together with a powerful voice and a full of ambition. They are optimist that after they gathered their power and after they practice, they could defeat that black spirit.
Finally, Christy found out the weakness of that black spirit. She tells the others. They start their practice. As they practice, they didn’t realize that the black spirit has come closer to them. The next day, when they are practicing, that black spirit came and tries to destroy all the things there. It tries to destroy them but luckily they still keep the defense robot. So, the real obstacle starts now. One by one, they attack that black spirit. It has last for 4 days, but they still couldn’t defeat it.
At night, they discuss on how to defeat that black spirit. They discuss a tactic.
“Why don’t we try to combine our ability?” Ricky asked.
“That’s a nice idea. I don’t even think that way.” Jake said.
“But, we don’t have time to practice; we haven’t ever combined our ability.” Stacy said.
“I think, we don’t need any practice again, we just need our brain on how we set the strategy.” Christy said.
“You’re right Christy; we just need to set a good strategy to defeat that black spirit.” Boy said.

They all discuss the strategy to defeat the black spirit. Each of the give an idea. That whole night, they all discuss it and they only sleep for 3 hours. Though it was a tiring day, but they keep on trying to think on how they could defeat the black spirit.

The sun has rise and the 7 kids has wake up, they are preparing themselves for the tough day that they will face. As they have planned, some of them will lure that black spirit. After they lure it, then they will joined their ability and attack the black spirit. But they know that it’s not easy to lure it. They should try really hard. So, as what they have planned, they do it according to their planned.

Amazingly, that black spirit came out. The kids run as fast as a cheetah to their friends to join their ability to attack the spirit. Definitely, the spirit will chase them. They have gathered together. They joined their force and attack that spirit. And they succeed. Now, the world is full of joy, happiness, peaceful. They learn a lot of things there. Fighting didn’t solve any problem.

After reading that book, I think that a good team work could defeat anything. And I learned that we should never give up in everything we do.
