Captain Gathercole And The Project Of Destruction(Nana Konadu) The last time you saw me (Kai) I was on my way to detention again with my best buddy George. And Mr Gathercole was suspended for a week which pretty much blew our minds away, because usually Mr Crabby wouldn't do such a nasty thing to teachers. But recently on television it had been said that a scientist- called Mr Tinklebox - had created a device called Tinklebox 2000 which basically takes over the mind of the person and makes them do crazy things; just like Mr Crabby had done to Mr Gathercole, but the thing some rumors don’t understand is how it happens.

Anyway, Kai thought all of that was just nonsense so he just ignored it and got dressed up for school. After he had finished he eagerly took his ring as always and put it in his backpack. “There is a great force coming, something you have never imagined, this force is too powerful” said his female ring. Kai was stunned. whatever force it was he knew it would be a big challenge for Captain Gathercole. Kai looked at his clock and he knew he was late for school; he quickly opened his front door and rushed as fast as he could to the school. And to his luck he was only two minutes late but that hastily made the teachers mad, which earned Kai his ninth detention, but he didn’t care, he had already earned a reputation, “The Cool Kai.” anyway Kai just shrugged his shoulders, and ran to George - to his surprise he was chatting up two girls, and was wearing one of his cool sunglasses and he was wearing his swag clothes which pretty much blew Kai’s mind away. When George finished speaking to the astonishing girls, he spudded Kai on his knuckles and put his hand over his shoulder. “What the heck happened to you!” said Kai with a furious look. George didn’t say a word he just took him inside the dining room where nobody else dared to go. But nobody knows why… anyway back to the story. So George took Kai to the dining, room and who was waiting there but Mr Crabby! Kai’s hand trembled, Mr Crabby’s eyes started to go into the shape of a spiral; it was almost as if Kai was going to be hypnotized by Mr Crabby and it was true until, Mr Gathercole butted in, everybody stunned except Kai. He smiled with an ecstatic look; he quickly snapped his fingers repeatedly and Mr Gathercole ripped off his work clothes and put his super armour on. Mr Crabby and George quickly fled- Kai knew that something weird was happening and he had to figure it out quickly.

When it was lunchtime, George, had just finished having a chat with Mr Crabby and had went to sit with the girls who all started to blush over him. Kai felt like that Tinklebox 2000 was starting to take George and Mr Crabby’s mind. “Hey Skinny Kai watcha doing eating that massive hotdog!” said George. Laughter erupted, Kai felt like he had lost one of his best friends since well kindergarten. Kai swiftly ran out of the dinner hall and hid in the caretaker, where nobody could find him he wept in sorrow. Kai didn’t know what else he could do he had lost his best friend to some boring girls and Mr Crabby was out to destroy the world, and to make matters worse Mr Tinklebox was visiting their school tomorrow for a special interview about his invention. The only thing Kai could do was snap his fingers and Captain Gathercole would come but what was the point; he was fired anyway so how was he supposed to arrive. Kai opened the door, with a disappointed look on his face. He looked around and nobody was there except the caretaker listening to his boring classical music. “Where is everyone” thought Kai. He ran into the dining hall but nobody was there just food splattered all over the floor- he looked at the time and it was only 1:25 which meant he was supposed to be in his maths class. Kai charged hurriedly towards maths class; and everybody seemed to be waiting for him there. The teacher told Kai to sit down next to George whilst she marked the register, Kai looked at George but George didn’t look back he was looking outside the window where some gardeners were chopping their oldest tree to make more paper. Tears flowed out of George’s eyes but he just wiped them so nobody could see. Kai patted George on the back; but George just slapped his hand with an angry look on his face. Kai ran out of the classroom and ignored what the furious teacher had said to him. Back in the classroom George was- called by the headmaster (Mr Crabby) he thought he was in trouble but Mr Crabby told him to stay in after school because he needed to discuss a few things to him. They both smiled at each other, with a wicked look.

Kai looked at the time and, it was 3:00 which meant all the pupils in the school would be coming out… in just about now. And he was correct all the big dudes started to push him like he was a little kindergarten. When they all left Kai was about to leave until he heard Mr Crabby talking to George about Mr Tinklebox visiting their school the next day and he told George to keep Kai away from Mr Tinklebox before he destroyed the whole plan. “Yes Sir I will keep stupid Kai away from our plan Mwahhaa” replied George. Kai knew he had to do something quick and fast.

The next day Kai got in the school early, just like he done on his adventure with him and George. Luckily Kai brought his “cool” jetpack with him and jumped over the school gates but when he entered the school office it was locked. And this time he didn’t have the invisibility cloak with him, and he had no idea what to do but he looked inside the bag and to his surprise there was the invisibility cloak he had just remembered about the spare one he and George had made. He eagerly put it on and walked through the door and ran to Mr Crabby office where he was talking to someone on the phone. Kai was shocked he thought he had come to school early and he did because Mr Crabby was the only person there. When Mr Crabby finished talking, he went to the toilet to do a number two there (for those who don’t know number two its poo) when he went Kai hid behind the, bush and went inside the headmasters office. When Kai looked inside the phone book he saw that Mr Crabby was talking to Mr Tinklebox about the project and visiting our school and he had agreed to come at exactly 1:30. Kai covered his mouth- with shock he knew he had to leave the school before Mr Crabby came back again. He was on his way out when he heard the toilet flash he rapidly put the invisibility cloak on and held his breath. Mr Crabby opened his door and just walked through, Kai like he was from a different planet. Kai smiled with a grin, but before he left he wanted to a ten out of ten prank but he knew he didn’t have enough time so he ran to the school office and went through the school office door. Just in time before, the school teachers arrived- As Kai walked towards the school entrance he saw George kissing his mum on the check and then he ran to his line. Kai went to his mum and asked him why they; were not friends no more but she said she didn’t know and that George says you fight him. Kai knew there was no point of arguing with George’s mum after all they were kinda like relatives but in a weird kind of way. Anyway Kai went to stand behind George and just kept his mouth shut hoping George wouldn’t say anything to him. But his luck didn’t work today, “So, um how are you” said George. Kai shrugged his shoulders and kept quiet, hoping that George wouldn’t pick up a fight with him- when the teacher came he quickly scurried to the classroom and sat down impatiently. “George and Kai Mr Crabby would like to see you both” whispered Mrs Frilly. They both walked unhurriedly towards the headmaster’s office where he was waiting for them both. He dragged Kai into the office by his collar; Mr Crabby looked at him with a furious look. Kai knew what he had to do and he quickly ran out of the office with no doubt.

When Kai returned to class his classmates were getting ready for the special assembly. He got into his line order and went inside assembly- when all the classes, students and teachers arrived the assembly began. Mr Crabby introduced Mr Tinklebox and Mr Tinklebox came inside everybody started laughing at him because; he was the smallest person any of them had seen and he had some whopping glasses. Mr Tinklebox felt so embarrassed- but he still continued explaining about his project and he tried it on one of the kids and believe it or not it worked the kid started jumping about like a wild monkey. All the kids gasped except Kai he knew something weird was happening, suddenly Mr Tinklebox chose Kai to come his mouth started to drool but he quickly wiped it off. When he got up on the stage Mr Tinklebox told, him to look deep into the spiral machine then- he said “You will turn into a proud lion!” Kai started roaring like a ferocious, wild lion everybody started to laugh at him he had never felt so humiliated in his life- well except the time he wet himself in Times Square. So after everybody stopped laughing Mr Tinklebox told Kai to go and sit down and again. And when Kai did he started talking about a dull lecture about how you should stay in school and learn hard and also if you do that you can achieve high. After he finished he left, and everybody clapped for him- when Kai looked at the time he saw it was nearly 3:00 which meant it was home time. So Mr Crabby sent everyone back to their classes and they went home except George. He was waiting for Mr Crabby; in his office because George Mr Crabby and Mr Tinklebox were going to destroy the world with the mad Tinklebox 2000. Mr Crabby came back and he escorted George to the Key Stage 2 hall where Mr Tinklebox was waiting for him. George smiled an immoral look at Mr Tinklebox and he smiled back. Luckily Kai hid in the janitors office and came out when he heard an lurid bang- he ran as fast as he could into the hall and watched what was happening he saw that Mr Tinklebox was about to press a red button – it said “Destroy the world button” he was about to press it when Kai kicked the doors open and shook in terror. “Well look what we have here a little boy who is going to try and defeat us. Three to one boy, you stand no chance! Hahaha” said Mr Tinklebox. Kai nippily snapped his fingers and Mr Gathercole flew in threw the top window. “Hey that window cost a lot of money you know!” said Mr Crabby. Captain Gathercole started flinging slingshots from his pants towards Mr Tinklebox and Mr Crabby but they both dodged eagerly. “Tra La Tra La” said Captain Gathercole. Mr Crabby started to throw giant chunks of bricks towards Captain Gathercole’s direction but he just dodged easily. Suddenly Mr Tinklebox started to get really irritated and was about to press “Destroy the world button” but Captain took out his thunderous slingshot and blew up the entire project. Mr Tinklebox quickly ran out of the school, to his secret hideout but the police had caught him just in time. Mr Tinklebox started to kick and slap but- they still didn’t let go when they took him to jail the judge said that he was to be sentenced there for a whole 4 years. So that problem pretty much took care of itself. At Kai’s school Mr Crabby started to itch his eyes as if he was in a dream but all he could remember was Mr Tinkle box’s visit so everything was back to normal again.
