The Rare Card
Born 1983, M, from Atlanta,Texas, United StatesSally was stretched out across her bed texting when her nephew came in. “What are you doing Aunt Sally?” asked Miles, “Oh nothing. Why are you here?” asked Sally while trying to hide her cell phone. “Mom is having to work over today and your parents said it would be okay for me to hang out here until mom gets off,” said Miles sitting his backpack on the floor beside the bed. “Oh brother!” said Sally with a sigh. “I bet you was texting Nathan. (Imitating Sally) I love you, kiss me,” said Miles puckering up his lips and making a kissing sound. “Knock that off!” exclaimed Sally.
Sally’s father knocked on her door. “Here is a package for you,” said her father handing her a package and then closing her bedroom.
Miles puckered up his lips and started making a kissing sound again as Sally sit down on the bed. “Do that again and I will punch your lights out,” said Sally as she opened the package. “What is it?” asked Miles as he got on the bed to see what was in the package. “It is just a stupid disc from the Card Master,” said Sally disappointed. “I thought we were through with that when Roman was defeated,” said Miles. “Obviously not,” said Sally with a sigh. “Well, at least you will get to see your boyfriend,” said Miles starting to pucker up again. “Try it,” said Sally doubling up her fist.
Nathan, Taylor, and Walter came over to where Sally lived and she downloaded the file. “Micha Macateu was young boy from the City of Allgreen always dreamed of being a Shadow Game Master, just like his hero Sattoe Kiver,” read Sally. “I could find a better person to look up to than Sattoe Kiver,” Interrupted Taylor, who then apologized for interrupting Sally. “Micha bought a deck of Shadow Game Cards. This was no ordinary deck as futurobam had created the deck with a teleport card so he could accomplish his mission of destroying the real world. While playing a Shadow Game Micha activated the teleport card and three dragons were teleported to the real world,” said Sally. “What happens next?” asked Taylor. “I don’t know, that is where it ends,” said Sally. “Obviously, there is still time to prevent this event from occurring” said Nathan. “Oh man! Please tell me we are not talking about one of those time duck things,” said Walter. “It is a time paradox,” said Taylor. “I am afraid we are. The bad thing is something caused a disruption in the timeline on that planet and we have to be extremely careful otherwise we will alter the planet’s present and future which could lead to serious consequences,” said Sally. “If we could figure out where the disruption in the timeline occured maybe we could go back and stop it from happening,” said Taylor. “You mean time travel,” said Walter trying to keep from laughing. “Yes, Walter I was talking about time travel,” said Taylor. “The problem is I don’t have access to that planet’s history, so it would be impossible to figure out where and when it happened,” said Sally. “What if we went to a library on the planet?” asked Walter slowly backing up afraid he had said something stupid. “Walter! You are a genius!” exclaimed Taylor. “I am,” said Walter with a puzzle look on his face and scratching his head. “Good thinking Walter, we will get the teleport card from Micha and then we will go to the library,” said Sally.
Nathan, Sally, Walter, Taylor, and Miles teleported to the City of Allgreen. They climbed a tree and watched Micha go into a trading card store. He was in the store a few minutes and then came out with a package of cards he had purchased using his allowance money. “I wished the rare Huggie Dragon would be in the package,” said Micha.
“What the heck is a Huggie Dragon?” asked Taylor quietly to Sally. “It is a very rare card, that when it is activated the dragon will go up to the opponent's monster, hug it, and then it will start squeezing until it squeezes so hard that the monster is destroyed,” said Sally. “If we just had one of those cards maybe Micha would trade the teleport card for a Huggie Dragon Card,” said Taylor. “I have three of them, all we would have to do is find a way to make the trade,” said Sally. “I know a way. Would you please let me have one?” asked Miles. Sally summoned the Power of the Ultimate Deck and handed Miles one of the Huggie Dragon Cards.
Miles climbed down from the tree and went in the trading card store and bought a deck of cards. Miles came out of the store and started trying to catch up with Micha. He managed to catch up when Micha stopped walking and looked down at the sealed package of cards in his hand. Micha was trembling with excitement as he thought the deck might contain the rare Huggie Dragon.
“Excuse me, I noticed that you had a deck of Shadow Game Cards in your hand,” said Miles. “Yeah, I dream of being a Shadow Game Master just like my hero,” said Micha. “Cool! I also play the Shadow Card Game and just bought another collection of cards,” said Miles. “I am hoping the package I just bought has the rare Huggie Dragon,” said Micha. “Let’s see what cards we got and you can go first,” said Miles. “Ok,” said Micha opening the package of cards but it did not have the rare dragon. “Man! No Huggie Dragon,” said Micha. Miles opened the deck of cards he purchased and slipped in the rare Huggie Dragon Card. “What did you get?” asked Micha. “I got seven cards that already had and the rare Huggie Dragon,” said Miles. “Man!” said Micha who was disappointed and started to walk off. “Wait, I will trade with you,” said Miles. “You will,” said Micha. “Sure” said Miles. “Here are the cards I got,” said Micha showing Miles the cards that was in the package he had purchased. Miles pretended to be carefully examining each card. “I will take that one,” said Miles pointing to the teleporter card. Micha handed Miles the teleport card and Miles handed him the Huggie Dragon card.
As the two traded cards Sally noticed a male teenager with spiked hair, a white sleeveless tee shirt, and camouflage pants with tattoos on both shoulders walking towards Micha and Miles. “Uh-oh, there could be trouble,” said Sally to the others who were also watching.
The male teenager approached Micha and Miles. “My name is Crow and I am going to be the ultimate Shadow Game Master. Now, hand over the Huggie Dragon Card,” said Crow. “Never,” said Micha. “Then I will have to beat you up,” said Crow going towards Micha. “I summon Power of Fox and Magic Bow and Arrow,” said Miles. A bow and arrow appeared in Miles hand. “Get out of my way brat!” said Crow pushing Miles to the ground. “That no good for nothing,” said Sally stopping herself before she started using cuss words.
Sally came down from the tree and got in front of Micha. “Hold it right there you big bully,” said Sally. “Get out of my way or I will beat you up too!” said Crow. “Instead of fists how about a shadow game, winner gets the Huggie Dragon,” said Sally. “Fine,” said Crow. “And just so you don’t try to pull a fast one. Walter, come here,” said Sally.
Walter climbed down from the tree and went up to Sally. “Since Walter is not playing he is going to hold the Huggie Dragon Card,” said Sally. “You better not be trying to pull a fast one on me,” said Crow. “You have my word and I will prove it to you,” said Sally. She took a few steps away from where the game was going to be played and made an x with her foot. “Walter stand on the x until the match is over,” said Sally. Walter walked over and stood on the x. “Please keep the card visible at all times,” said Sally walking back up to where Crow was standing. “I will start the game. First I will place one card face down. Then I will play Ancient Cannon and The Fairy of the Vines, then end my turn,” said Crow. A card faced down appeared then a cannon appeared in front of the face down card, and then a fairy appeared beside the cannon. “First I summon Solomon’s Judgement,” said Sally drawing a card from her deck. Solomon appeared in front of Sally. “Next, I play Dark Magician Girl” said Sally. A girl with a magic wand appeared beside Solomon. “Finally, I play Green Dragon,” said Sally. A green dragon appeared beside the girl with the magic wand. “Solomon Judgement, Dark Magician Girl, and Green Dragon, attack!” shouted Sally. Solomon stuck his hand out, the cannon and the face down card exploded. Crow lost six hundred of his four thousand two hundred life points. Dark Magician Girl waved her magic wand, the Fairy of the Vines exploded and Crow lost another one thousand three hundred life points. The green dragon blew fire at Crow and he had to jump to keep from getting burned and he lost another fifteen hundred life points.
Crow then drew two cards from his deck. “I play the Continuous Spell Card Magician Drain, every round you will lose seven hundred life points,” said Crow. A magician appeared in front of Crow and Sally lost seven hundred of her Life Points. “Now I play the Spell Card Mirror of Destruction,” said Crow. A mirror appeared beside the magician and Solomon, Dark Magician Girl, and the green dragon exploded. Sally lost another seven hundred life points.
Sally drew a card from her deck. “After this round the game is over. I play Eggplant,” said Sally. An eggplant with two arms and hands appeared. Crow pointed at the Eggplant and started laughing. “You won’t be laughing long, not only does Eggplant have the ability to destroy Spells but it also has two thousand attack points and since you do not have any monsters on the field to protect you, when Eggplant attacks you will lose all of your Life Points and the game is over. Now, Eggplant attack!” shouted Sally. The eggplant began to glow and the magician exploded. Then the eggplant started flying towards Crow, who turned around and took off running. After Crow was out of sight Sally snapped her fingers and the eggplant transformed back into a card.
Walter handed the rare Huggie Dragon to Micha, who was excited about getting the rare card. Micha thanked them for the card and the five started off to the library. Miles looked back and noticed that Micha was still looking at the card. “I will be right,” said Miles turning around.
“You might want these so you can add to your collection. After all in order to become a Shadow Game Card Master you are going to need bunches and bunches of cards,” said Miles handing Micha the cards that were in the package he had purchased. “Thanks man,” said Micha taking the cards and shaking Miles hand.
