The Mammoth machine was standing in front of me, with its oversized wheels bombarding the parking lot. It had the words ice explorer written on it. I knew what was that half bus half monster truck doing near a glacier, It was to take tourists to the heart of the glacier.
The ride on the ice explorer was nothing like I expected. The ride was bouncy, but not bumpy, and I expected the vehicle to slide a little, but did not glide on the ice. Finally, I got off the giant bus, and stepped on to the glacier.
The capacious sheet of ice stretched all the way into the mountains. There was a river flowing with glacier water. My mom had brought an empty bottle so we could get glacier water as a souvenir. After that, we went exploring around the glacier. During this exploration time, I found a lake in the glacier. The lake was covered with a thin layer of ice. I took the layer off and noticed it was paper thin and looked like glass. We moved on. We had just moved a few feet when a horn sounded. It was time to go back the ice explorer. When we heard two horns, we began to run because the bus was about to leave soon. That is when I did not notice were I was walking. My foot fell into a trap.
The water was freezing cold and flowing into my shoe, like a person’s hart pumping blood into all the parts of the body. I yanked my shoe up. I had stepped on thin ice and the layer had cracked. However, I had no time to worry about my shoe and my foot. We went a board the ice explorer just as three horns blew. We were going back to the parking lot.
Four days later, it was an hour till midnight when we had finally arrived home from our Banff Canada trip. My dad was exhausted after one week of driving. My little brother, Jason was already asleep. After a quick shower, I went into the same state, as I fell into a sleep that reflected my Canada trip.
