THE EGDE OF A CLIFF
Born 2000, F, from New York, United StatesMy life was full of holes and regrets,
That burned my soul each aching hour,
Fire would ignite through my frail bones,
As my blood continued to pulse through me,
I watched as my future unfold beneath my fingertips,
Without a glance at what other road may take me,
My heart grew cold as I continued,
No one not even me could save me from myself,
One jump that’s all I needed,
And everything would be over,
A jump where life will continue to go on as mine will not,
Freedom ached through my bones,
As I slowly took a step forward,
The wind howled pushing me away from my escape,
I pushed myself forward knowing that this was my last chance,
A chance for peace inside myself,
Screams and cries pounded through my mind,
Glass shattered at the background,
Memories vibrated through my bones,
Suffocating me,
I lay on the ground clutching my stomach,
As each wave of pain pulsed through me,
Screams escaped from my mouth,
As the wind continued howling silencing my screams,
Slowly the pain disappeared,
Leaving me weak and vulnerable,
I stare at the clouds as I continued to lie there,
Wondering how I got myself here,
I get back up,
As I slowly walk away from the cliff,
Telling myself that theirs another way to freedom,
Where I can live to my fullest without the desire of sadness and failure,
Without the need to escape a world of broken,
Or have the moments where ending my life is my only chance of peace,
And most importantly,
Where I can breathe and know that somewhere down the road,
I can find myself again.
