Insanity
Albert Einstein once said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Well, if that’s true, then I belong in an asylum. In the past, I haven’t had much success with girls. No, scratch that. I haven’t had any success with girls, period. So, I look around and I see a beautiful girl. I start to get all mushy and gushy inside. Yeah, you know the feeling. Your heart flutters in your chest and your stomach seems to climb up into your throat. You just feel an overall nervousness around that person. I guess you could call that love if you want to. So anyway, back to me. I develop a crush on that specific girl and I decide to tell my friends. My friends then start teasing me around that girl and she gets creeped as per usual. Once I finally build up the courage to expose my true feelings to her in person, she just cuts me down with one simple phrase. “You're a nice guy and all, but I see you more as a friend”. That’s probably why they call them crushes. At the end of it, you're crushed. I then say “That’s alright, I guess I’ll see you around.” I walk away, playing it off as though nothing happened. But on the inside, I reduce to a pile of sorrow and pain. My eye starts wandering around again. The cycle repeats itself. Crazy. Mad. Insane.
