A long time ago in dreamtime, bats used to be out in the night like other animals but one day one of the tribe members had scared the bat and the bat bit the tribe’s man and he became very sick and died. Soon the bats became a big threat to the tribe’s people and gave them all diseases and the population slowly began to decrease, so one day the tribes all got together and decided to scare all the bats off into big caves where they would stay in the day time by holding sticks up with fire on the end because fire was bats weakness. The bats became terrified to come out of the caves at day time because they were too scared that the tribe’s men were there with fire, so they would stay in the caves all day and at night when they were all asleep they would come out and eat. If the bats saw someone they would fly to the nearest tree and hang upside down to look like tree branches. Over time the bats developed good eye sight because they were getting use to the dark. The bats are able to survive at night because the moths come out at night also. When all the tribes fall asleep they eat the vegetation and fruits off their trees as a payback for scaring them and stopping them from being able to come out during the day time. That is why when it comes to fruit season when your fruit is ripe the bats come and demolish it all for pay back.
