It was the worst day of her life. Hearing those words tore her apart. Her father explained, gasping in between each tear. How could he tell his daughter her best friends and cousins have passed away. How could he look at her and say they weren’t coming back. She wept in her dad's arms. She couldn’t believe it, she didn’t want too.
“They aren’t coming back.” Those words stung her ears. She didn’t want to listen, she didn’t want to believe that this was the end for them. Brooke ran out of the room. She didn’t want to be home. She wanted to be alone. Brooke ran to the park she once spent with her precious cousins. There wouldn’t be anymore memories to make. There wouldn’t be a second chance this time. They were gone.
She sat at the park, just reminiscing all the good times they did have together. Tears poured out. She didn’t think that they would ever stop. It was so hard. She could feel her heart breaking. She lost her best friends. She lost the two people she was closest with. How could she handle this loss? Could she do it?
