Boogered Up
Born 1941, M, from Harvest, AL., United StatesBoogered Up
(A Nose-Gay)
By
Carl Brooks
While driving down the street one day,
Dodging cars along the way.
I felt a tickle in my nose,
And reached to scratch… or pick, I s’pose.
I stuck my little finger in,
And felt this… thing, all wet within.
The more I probed, the more it tickled.
I drew it out, all green and brickled.
The light turned red, I stopped to heed it.
I turned my head, that’s when I freed it.
A girl was there, she saw it plain.
She must have thought me quite insane.
I couldn’t find a place to stick-it,
Nor even dare to try and flick-it.
I lunged ahead, pre-occupied,
And slammed a pickup in its side.
If e’re again, my nose betray,
I’ll try and scratch, some other way.
By acting, thus, with more decorum,
I might avoid this public forum.
