One day, Billy was chasing a frog, down by the ravine. He chased the spotted critter through the tall grass. Twice he had it between his paws, but the frog popped out and said “Ribit! Ribit!”
Next, the frog went through a hollow log. Billy did his best to suck in his tummy and squeeze his fuzzy, chubby body through the tight hole. When he was almost to the end of the tunnel, the frog peeked in and said “Ribit! Ribit!”

As Billy squeezed his way out, he saw the frog jump over the edge of the ravine. Billy ran as fast as he could and jumped over too! He slid down the side of the ravine in the soft spring mud. He tumbled and slid and slid and tumbled, coming to rest in a deep mud hole! All the frogs laughed, as Billy (All covered in mud!) smiled and said “Ribit! Ribit!”

Mom had watched the whole thing happen. She gently took Billy by the neck and swished him around in the stream until he was clean. No more “Ribit! Ribit!” she scolded!
