seduction... A Poem
Born 1941, M, from Harvest, AL., United StatesSeduction
A Sailing Lyric
By
Carl Brooks
The birth of dawn screams its command to unlock the magic eastern door.
Silently, I slip my eager craft through the ominous threshold,
Seeking the ultimate seduction.
Reluctant, at first,
My sails luff the interrogatives of time and distance.
I answer with firm helm, lest fear mar my purpose.
My canvasses filled as wanton lungs,
Pregnant with promising life,
Or breasts of buxom mothers.
Her limbs, hewn for strength and grace of line,
Rake forward,
Reaching for new holds… new experiences.
With salt-tempered ribs flexing and breathing,
Creaking their constant complaints,
But with the conviction of a long distance runner;
Truly happy with the pain of doing.
Pulling lines and slacking sheets,
I guide my marvelous Marionette through its graceful ballet.
All is in balance once again.
We move in symphonic cadence, my vessel and I,
As a mind and its body…each, useless without the other.
We are one, shaped and formed by nature to either fly upon the wind…
Or rot, stagnated and unfulfilled, alone upon some distant beach.
We scale the undulating mountains and plane the cavernous slopes in frenzied glee,
Exploring all possible extremes of feeling and imagination.
Always seeking more... thrilled with the excitement of foreplay.
Nighttime blurs my horizon, but not my resolve.
The jeweled cloak of blackness above, lights my way.
The moist folds of my lover beckon with rhythmic sighs.
Feeling... caressing... I plunge my body into her dense mass with loving thrusts.
I pierce her soft, green sea-flesh and taste her briny blood as it soaks my soul.
I gulp its primordial essence, never satiated.
I wriggle up the stiff mast-shaft as a sperm cell fights to fulfill a primitive, archetypal urge.
Drenched with the passions of millions before me, and untold billions after,
I climb, shaking my puny fist while screaming love and obscenities at… whatever is there.
I violate your purity,
I defile you.
I need you.
I beg of you...
Love me, hate me, destroy me...
But do not be indifferent to me.
We need, desperately, the other.
Godless, I am nothing.
Man-less, you would cease.
My trailing wake-scar closes immediately behind,
As if I was never there.
The essence of my watery god drenches me.
Returning to the womb of my lover, I find it all.
The pain and ecstasy of being reborn, again and again, is indescribable.
