The Girl in The Barn

I was outside walking around at night. It was like ten-thirty that night, and I was keeping to myself talking and thinking to myself like I do all the time. It was a cool night, and the sky was clear and beautiful. I was walking in front of the barn, which was like a mile away from my house. I always liked being at the barn, but I'd never been there at night, and I didn't think anything would happen.

As I was walking I got to the door of the barn, and opened it. I went inside, and sat on a hay bale, and just started to think to myself. As I was thinking for about five minutes I heard what sounded like someone small running around. I got up, and started to look around, but I didn't see anything. I saw the tractor, the pens we kept the horses in, and all the hay bales we had. I got up, and walked to each of the horse pens to see if I could find what was running around, but I didn't find a thing. I than shrugged it off, and said it must have been my Imagination.
I went back to the hay bale I was sitting on earlier, and started to think to myself, but this time my thoughts were creeping me out, because of the noise. I kept thinking of scary things, and tried everything I could to think of happy thoughts. I finally started to think of some memories of when I was young, and how I used to watch Pokémon and Yugioh, but as I was thinking I heard the sound of something running around again. I knew I heard it that time, and I got up quickly, and started to look around again, but this time I was walking slow, and with it being night, and cold made it even scarier.

As I was looking around I got to one pen, and as I looked inside I heard the sound of a child giggling, and as I heard it I froze in fear. The sound sounded like it came from the pen that was three pens to my right and behind me. I slowly turned around shaking in fear, and as I got to where I could see the pen, and as I saw the pen nothing was there. I slowly walked toward the pen. When I got to the pen I didn't see anything, but I did see what looked like someone was moving the dirt around with their hands or their feet. I got close to the dirt, and looked at it closely. As I was looking at it, a loud crash made me jump, and fall back on my butt. I got up, and dusted my pants off as good as I could, and looked around to see what made the crashing sound. As I looked around, I saw one of the lawn mowers we keep chained up so it couldn't be taken by thieves was on it's side. I looked around to see what could have made it move on it's side, but still there was nothing in the barn, but me. I put the lawn mower back in it's position, and started to walk out the barn.
As I got two steps outside the barn I heard what sounded like a young girl saying are you leaving already. It gave me the shivers of a life time. I started to run as fast as I could back home, and didn't stop to see who it was. I got inside where everyone else was, and as I did I walked to the window that was facing the barn, and as I looked at the barn I saw what looked like a girl who looked to be about six years old. She was wearing a white dress with roses on it, and she was looking at my house. I stood there looking at her, and she stood where she was looking at the house. She than started to run around in the barn, and than mysteriously vanished. After that I went to bed, because of all that happened made me tired.

The next morning I woke up, and went to eat breakfast. When my grandpa came in the kitchen to fix him a cup of coffee, I looked at him, and asked him about the barn. I didn't want to sound crazy or anything, but I asked him if he knew anything about a little girl in there. He turned around, and looked at me, and said you saw her too haven't you. I whispered to him saying yes sir I did. He sat at the table across from me, and told me about the barn.

He said a five years ago a little girl was killed when the barn her family had caught on fire. He said that when the little girls dad was working with his tractor, the little girl walked in the barn, and was playing around, and ended up going into one of the horses pens. As the dad was working on the tractor gasoline leaked out onto the hay. It was only a little bit, and the dad dismissed it as it wasn't a big problem. He got onto the tractor, and cracked it, but as he did some wires in the tractor sparked, and hit the gasoline that was leaked onto the hay, and caused it to catch fire quickly, and made the fire spread quickly through the hay. The dad ran out not thinking his daughter was in the barn, but as he stepped outside he heard her scream. He tried to go in, and save her, but as he tried the fire was already to big. He couldn't get inside. All he could do is sit there, and hear his little girl scream. I felt bad after I heard the story. I thought to myself how things like that could happen, but they just do. I never saw the little girl again, but one time, and she was sitting on the hay bell I was that night.
