One there was a girl called Victoria. She had long black hair and brown crystal eyes, but all she really wanted was a friendship necklace. She really wanted one because her friends all had one, and the reason that they all had one, was so that they could be best friends forever. When Victoria went home from school, Victoria and her mum had a little conversation.
“Mum can I have a friendship necklace?” asked Victoria.
“But what about your other jewellery?” enquired mum.
“I'm getting bored of them!” exclaimed Victoria.
“But how much will it cost?” asked mum.
“Emm, it will cost a lot of money.”
“Then no!” shouted mum.
“I want one because when you were young, you had one as well, so why can’t I have one?” asked Victoria.
“Lets talk about this tomorrow. Go wash your hands now. It’s dinner time.”
The next day when Victoria was in the bathroom, she had a dark thought to steal a necklace.
Victoria walked to school with two mixed thoughts in her mind. There was a red devil on one shoulder and a white angel on the other.
“Steal your friends necklace then you can join your friends.”
“Don’t take it! It is not a nice thing to do.”
“Don’t listen to that stupid winged girl. Just do it!”
“I’m not a stupid winged girl! Victoria, listen to me. You must do the right thing.”
“No, do the wrong thing!”
“No, do the right thing!”
“Just listen to me you good girl. Now go and do the wrong thing.”
Vitoria was in a lesson when the bell rang.
“Ok everybody it is time to go to break now,” said Miss Cheng.
Everybody rushed out of the door, but not Victoria. When everybody was at break, she nervously looked both ways. Her hands were shaking. Her heart was beating faster and faster. She really wanted the friendship necklace. She snatched it quickly and put it around her neck. She ran out to break with sweat dripping down her forehead. Then the devil appeared.
“Good job little girl, you stole it and now you can join your friends!”
Suddenly, Victoria saw her friend crying. She was upset too. Then the angel appeared. “You see you shouldn’t listen to that mean devil! Now you’ve made your friend upset.” It was time to go back to the classroom and her friend was still upset because Victoria had not returned the friendship necklace. She needed to find a way to put it back where it belonged, but it was too late. It was almost home time. All she could do was to be honest and tell her friend that she had stolen it. Then her friend Hannah walked out of the classroom door to get her backpack. The only thing that Victoria could do now was to hide. When Hannah opened her backpack, she laughed. She asked her friends to come over and they all looked so happy.
Victoria walked over said, “Why are you so happy Hannah?”
“Because I wanted to give you this necklace, so I left it in my backpack and I knew you would take it.”
“But what about the crying?”
“The crying, oh that was just me pretending to cry.”
“So you are not mad at me?”
“No am not.”
Nobody got in trouble, and they all went back home happily.
