The Troll War
(Note that the author was 14 years old when she wrote this story.)

In the gloom of the night the Knights of Old waited patiently though their horses were tugging impatiently on their bits and were anxious for they could smell what was coming. Far off in the distance they could hear the screams of anguish and they could see the smoke rising up from the forest. The screams came near and nearer then came a sudden deathly silence. A rumble that sounded like thunder became louder and louder until it became almost unbearable.

The Knights drew their swords just as a vicious band of evil Trolls came crashing through the forest. The Trolls slowly entered the meadow where the Knights were waiting for them. The Trolls looked at the knights with malice in their evil eyes. With a roar that shook mountains to their very roots they drew their crudely made swords and rushed to the Knights. The Knights drew their powerful swords and urged their magnificent steeds forward, swords pointed at the trolls, and met the Trolls in a bloody and furious battle that will be talked about for ages. The Troll's swords were no match for the Knight's swords. Though the Trolls fell one by one they did not give up. They fought until Death on his Black Steed took them.

When the last Troll was killed the Knights Let out a roar of triumph that was heard in the Heavens. The Knights buried the Knights who died with tears in their eyes but with a light heart for those men gave their lives for the world. The viscious plague of Trolls had come to a end.
