Hi, my name is Daisy, I’ll tell you about the worst day of my life. It started like this. I was walking home, when I saw a person with a pretty, red, and colourful parrot. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was just so pretty. When I walked home, I said, “Mom, I want a lovely parrot. It is really pretty! If you saw it you would love it. It is so colourful. You wouldn’t believe your eyes, really!”
“Ok, you go wash your dirty hands. When you are finish washing your hands, come down and eat dinner.” replied mom.
“Ok mom I kno…”
“Stop, I don’t care what you’ll say, just go and wash your hands.” answered mom.
Why is she like that now? I can’t believe it!
“And don’t get the dirt on the towel.”
“Ok, ok, ok.”
“Quickly!” hurried mom.
“Hush” I sighed.
“Ok, I’m done.”
When I was eating dinner, my mom asked me to tell her what was the problem.
I said, “The problem is I want a PARROT!”
“What?” asked mom, “No way!”
“Why?” I replied.
“Look at all the pictures of parrots, aren’t they pretty?” I questioned.
“Ok, I’m done with my yummy lummy dinner.” laughed mom.
“It’s not funny mom, I’m serious.” I said angrily.
“Ok, ok calm down.” She said in a soft voice.
“I’m angry!”
“Ok fine.” said mom.
“Daisy, go and wash your face. Your face is so red.”
“Hush, ok.” I replied.
When I finished washing my face, I saw a cupcake, and I thought my mom made it. Never mind I don’t care, but how could I get my lovely, pretty, and colourful parrot.
The next day, I woke up and brushed my teeth. Whilst brushing my teeth I had a dark thought... I was thinking that I could go and find a parrot by myself, or I could steal someone else’s colourful parrot. During that time I had mixed feelings. When I finished brushing my teeth I went down to eat my healthy breakfast.
The day started badly and got worse as time went by. I finished my breakfast and walked to school. The second I arrived at school there was an angel on my right shoulder and a devil on my left shoulder. During my Maths lesson, I asked the teacher if I could go to the restroom.
She said, “Okay, if it’s in emergency.”
I went to the restroom and the second I get in to the toilet door, I saw a baby parrot next door. I could tell that the parrot’s owner was changing her clothes in one of the stalls. It was just like the one that I wanted. I wondered how I could take the parrot without being caught. I didn’t want to spend too long thinking about it, so I took it. The parrot squeaked, so I covered its beak. As I left the restroom, Mrs Lauren, the Principal was walking by. The parrot squeaked again.
“Why is there a squeaking sound? Is that you?” asked the Mrs Lauren.
I replied, “No, no, no way”
“Then what are you holding?”
“Nothing,” I answered.
“Open your hands Daisy. Quickly!” demanded Mrs Lauren.
“Ok,” I quietly said.
I thought that it would be really embarrassing. Mrs Lauren then saw the baby parrot in my hands.
Mrs Lauren said, “What is that? You said you had nothing thing in your hands, and then I asked you if that is you and you still say no too. Didn’t I ask you all of that?”
I said, “Yes, yes.”
Then the owner of the parrot passed by and loudly said, “Where’s my baby parrot, where’s my baby parrot?”
Then, the owner saw that I had the baby parrot in my hands.
She shouted, “Hey, that’s my baby parrot you stole it!”
The principal asked me, “Did you steal it?”
With tears in my eyes, I replied, “Yes, sorry, sorry, sorry.”
The owner said “Ok, it’s fine, but don’t do it next time!”
I learnt so many things that day. Now I’m going to tell you a promise. I want to be a kind, considerate and a good person. I was punished that day for my actions, but I do not want to tell you what it is….as it was too embarrassing.
