There once was a girl called Karen. She was a girl who came from Indonesia. She was a sensible child who was always interested and loved to make rainbow loom bracelets. But her mom was really mean and wouldn’t let her buy any more rainbow loom bands unless and until her little sister finished hers. So she kept persuading her mum.
“Oh mum! Please can you buy me the rubber bands!” cried Karen.
“Reason?” asked her mum.
“It’s all because everyone in my school has them but I don’t!” Karen explained.
“I won’t buy you those stupid rubber bands!” shouted her mum.
“Those rubber bands aren’t stupid, mum!” replied Karen, angrily.
“Ugh!” sighed her mum.
“What?” asked Karen.
“Just go and wash your hands for supper,” said her mum.
Karen had a really dark feeling that she was about to do something wrong…
Then the next morning Karen went to school with a thought in her head. The thought was with a devil and a angel talking to her. “If you want those rubberbands, tonight you will have to steal some money and take it to school and then while coming back from school you buy the rubberbands and come,” explained the devil.
“Don’t listen to him! He always says
wrong things,” the angel chanted.
“Listen to me!” shouted the devil.
“Listen to me,” sang the angel.
In the lessons also the devil and the angel were talking to her, even at breaktimes. Then she finally took her decision that she was going to listen to the devil. So after going home she did her things written on her timetable, then she waited till it was bedtime. Then it was bedtime. That sneaky little Karen went into her mum’s room. After that she looked around. She checked that nobody was looking. Checked again. Then finally she put her hand in, got the money and kept the money in a secret place, then she went back to sleep.
Then the next morning Karen woke up so excited because she was going to buy new rubberbands all by herself with nobody noticing. So she rushed her breakfast and hurried off to the mall with her money jangling in her pocket. Her mum even asked her a question but Karen didn’t listen and went to the mall. Then when she bought the rubberbands she went to school and came back home. But when she reached home she saw that her mum had bought her another pack of rainbow loom rubberbands. But she also saw that her mum’s face looked cross. When she sat on the sofa her mum started shouting at her. “Why did you take money from my purse and buy those stupid rubberbands!” her mum complained. Then just when Karen was about to speak her mum said, “I’m giving you this new pack of rubberbands but you will have to earn 25 dollars all by yourself.”
“Uh oh!”
