Lucia was a girl who had a brother, a mum and a dad. Lucia lived in a house. It was a beautiful house with a red carpet and gold decorated walls and it felt as if you were in a palace. It was a large house which had three floors but what Lucia wanted more than anything was a playmate robot. Lucia tried playing it once then twice in school until she started getting into the hobby of playing it every school week with her friends however she never had one.
“Where did you buy this robot?” Lucia would always ask her friends.
“In the toy shop” they always said.
When Lucia always returned from school she would always ask her parents to buy her one.
“What is the use of a robot when you have your brother George?” asked her mother whilst peeking at George playing in the corner of the room.
“I want a robot because I can play with it.” Lucia said, whilst jumping up and down in front of the TV. “And George only annoys me.”
“How could you say such a horrible thing to your brother after all he’s only young.”
“Stop jumping up and down, you are blocking the TV!” shouted dad.
Lucia scowled; as all her dad ever did was sit and watch TV. He couldn’t live without TV.
“I want a playmate robot!” Lucia screamed whilst bouncing up and down on the clean carpet. “I want I want I want!”
“We don’t want some junk in this house!” screamed dad.
“But dad it’s very fun, you can dance with it and you can play with it and…”
“Oh be quiet Lucia you are such a nuisance.”
Lucia was used to that kind of conversation. Her father never actually listened; he was always watching TV.
The next morning her father shook her in her bed.
“WAKE UP!” screamed her father in Lucia’s ear.
“Whaaa!” screamed Lucia as she fell down her bed in a big surprise.
“Get up lazy bones it’s time.”
“Today’s Saturday and I’ve done my homework.”
“It’s not that, silly!”
“What is it then? It’s only 9 o’clock in the morning.”
“Watch your language young lady. Today, you’re supposed to go to your auntie’s house and plus you’re late!”
Lucia got up she searched around her room.
“Where are my clothes?”
“In your closet!” screamed Lucia’s mum downstairs.
Lucia opened her closet and searched for her best dress. Then she took the hanger off and wore the dress she rushed down for breakfast and ate her cereal as fast as she could. Then she met her father and mother and her little brother at the car.
“C’mon Lucia get in the car quick we are 30 minutes late!” squealed her mother. “You know my sister makes tea at 9 o’clock sharp and she has been texting us a lot!”
They all went into the car.
“I feel sick I feel sick!” screamed Lucia and George.
Their mother handed out them a plastic bag each and they both threw up.
“Sorry we have to go fast!” yelled their father in the driver’s seat.
When the car came to a stop, Lucia’s mother turned to her sister who had a pleasant smile on her face.
“Sorry we’re late,” said Lucia’s mother.
Lucia and George went inside in the living room and sipped some of the tea that had been left especially for them. Then Lucia hurried into the main hall to see some of the portraits on the wall. She found there might be something that she might need… She tried a pass code she tried again and again until the case opened. And she had the deepest darkest thought…
The case opened and there were shimmering gold coins. Lucia counted them there was 1200p. That was enough to buy the playmate robot. Suddenly there was a poof of smoke. The smoke cleared. Suddenly an angel and devil appeared. “Don’t you dare do what I you’re about to do!” the angel screamed pointing at Lucia’s face.
“Do it! Do it!” the devil said jumping up and down.
“Don’t listen to him; your auntie will be really upset.”
“No she won’t, she will never find out. After all, it’s only money.”
Lucia put the money in her bag and hurried off.
“Yes yes keep on going!” cheered the devil with a big grin on his red face.
“You’re almost there.”
Lucia went into the living room where her parents and auntie were. She turned to her parents sipping some cold tea. They looked like they were pretending to enjoy their tea when it was cold and tasteless.
“Dad, can I go to the toy shop?” Lucia asked politely.
“It’s not that silly junk that you kept longing to buy is it?”
“No dad.”
“Very well but come back here with your toy so I can make sure that it is not that silly, stupid, junk!”
“Young lady, what do you think you are doing to me? You are making me even more mad!” shouted the angel looking as red as a sausage.
“Listen Lucia, go back to the house and give the money back or you will be in big trouble in your future!” demanded the angel.
“Keep on going!” the devil cheered again.
Lucia stopped for a moment. She knew that if she went home and showed her dad the toy, she would be in big trouble. She didn’t know what to do until she remembered the toy didn’t cost 1200p it was 1110p. That meant she could hide the playmate robot and just buy a packet of cards. She rushed to the toy shop and opened the door. The shopkeeper was there looking at the tiny girl with her little bag. “Want to buy something?” asked the storekeeper.
“I want to buy the playmate robot and a packet of cards please,” she said to the shopkeeper pointing at the shelf.
“Ok then,” the shopkeeper said as he handed the little girl two of the toys.
“That will equal 1200p.”
Lucia gave the shopkeeper the money and hurried off to the house. She put her playmate robot in the backseat of the car and brought the pack of cards with her.
“Let’s see what you’ve really got Lucia,” said her father drinking a cup of tea.
“Okay,” said Lucia with a big smile on her face.
Her dad opened the cards and had a big smile on his face.
“Oh packet of cards how exciting,” Lucia’s dad gleamed. “Want to play?”
“No sorry,” said Lucia. She went out of the room.
When she went out of the room, her auntie stopped the door from closing and asked, “How did you get all the money to pay for the packet of cards?”
“Um um,” mumbled Lucia.
“Your hands are dirty. Go the toilet and clean them.”
“But I don’t know where the toilet is.”
“I’ll take you upstairs.”
Whilst they were walking down the hall, Lucia’s auntie spotted the case was open. “Lucia do you know anything about this?” she asked pointing to the case.
“Ok I stole it the money!” she cried. “Please don’t tell!”
“I was saving the money for your birthday and I wanted to give it to you today.”
“Really?” asked Lucia.
“Yes, really.”
“Thank you so much,” she said excitedly. She swore never to steal again.
