It all started when a little boy called Zed was playing cricket at school with his friend Charlie who had his own cricket kit.
“Do you have a cricket kit?” communicated Charlie.
“No” carried on Zed.
“Why don’t you?”
“Because my dad does not want to spend money on it and he says that it’s useless”
It was home time. Everyone went home with their parents and he was the only one left. It was 12:40 so was time to go to the office. He lazily walked to the office. His dad was late to pick him up. He went home with his dad but he was the only one who was running home to watch the match. The score was 86 for 1 wicket. His favourite player was Virat Kohli from India. He wanted a cricket kit to practise with his friends and become an all rounder in cricket. He wanted to become a cricket player.
Then he had an idea to get the cricket kit…
He made a descision to steal money from his dad’s office but realised that he didn’t have a key.
When his dad came home from the bank, Zed tiptoed behind him. His dad shook his head, and looked back as he felt there was someone behind him. So Zed zoomed back in but he was too slow and his dad saw him.
“What are you doing? Are you trying to sneak and steal something from me?” enquired dad.
“No,” responded Zed.
“Then why did you sneak behind me?”
“I was going to ask if I can look after the key to the office for you?” asked Zed.
“That’s so kind of you,” replied dad, “I’m going to visit the customer to sell diamonds.”
When dad left, Zed quickly went to the office. He opened the door and saw a box, which he knew had money in it. It was locked. He tried to unlock it with a key that he found nearby, but it did not work. He saw another key, he tried with that one. It worked.
Then the lights went off…
He was scared that someone would come in. When he tiptoed beside the door, he heard his sister watching T.V. He said to himself, “She was the one who turned off the lights.”
He zoomed outside so fast that his sister didn’t see him going by. So he zoomed down the building and went to the shop called ADDIDAS, to buy the best cricket kit. It was the MRF Ultra Virat Kohli Kit. When his dad returned home, he saw that Zed wasn’t there. So he went down to the building and saw Zed in the ADDIDAS shop buying a cricket kit. Dad ran to him and screamed, “Zed stop!”
Zed turned around and saw dad running towards him. Catching his breath, his dad jumped towards him exclaimed, “I should never have trusted you, stupid silly boy!”
Dad slapped him across the face and kept him locked up in his room for a month. Zed kept apologizing but his dad did not listen to him. Zed’s sister felt sorry for him and pleaded with her dad to let Zed out, but her dad was still angry. She knew where the key to Zed’s room was kept. One day, whilst her father was out, she got the key and let Zed out.
When Zed came out of his room and saw his sister, he gave her the biggest hug. As this was happening, their father returned home and realised that his punishment was too severe. Zed’s father hugged his son and Zed promised never to steal again.
