One cold frosty winter morning, Skyla was lying in her bed when suddenly the door burst open.
“Get out of bed, its seven o’clock!’’ shouted mum.
Skyla got out of bed.
“What’s for breakfast?’’ asked Skyla.
“Nothing!’’ shouted mum, “Now get dressed.’’
She got dressed but she was getting even angrier when she found out that she was getting no snack! Skyla was always hungry at school and could not focus.
“Mum, I want snack!’’
“Well, you’re not getting any it’s your own fault for sleeping in.”
“Emily’s getting chocolate cake for her snack!’’ shouted Skyla.
“Well lucky her,” said mum and out the door.
“I haven’t eaten anything!” then she was quiet because it was then that she knew how she could get a snack.
When Skyla finally got to school, all her friends sat at one table and she had to sit with the boys because she was late. When she was walking downstairs, she had two thoughts in her head.
One said, “Don’t steal it, it doesn’t belong to you.”
The other said, “Steal it; you need it more than she does.”
“Don’t listen to him!” exclaimed the other, “It’s the wrong thing to do.”
“Go on go on.’’
It seemed the two thoughts just burst when she made her decision she was going to do it. Her hands where shaking. She grabbed it. Then she heard footsteps, it could have been anyone but it had to be the Head Teacher. She looked down “Oooh, that’s a nice snack just make sure you get a healthy one tomorrow.”
Of course she did not know because the snack box was new. At the end of time, Skyla felt she was forgetting something.
When she got home, she felt guilty. “Are you ok dear?” asked mum. “Has something happened at school?’’
She could have tried to say no but instead she just burst into tears!
The next day, at school, Skyla had to decide whether to own up or not. The two thoughts came back; they were like a devil and an angel.
“Own up you should have listened to me first.” said the angel.
“Don’t!” screamed devil.
Last time she had listened to devil but not this time. She walked to Emily and guiltily said, “Emily I stole your snack.”
“You what?’’ asked Emily.
“I stole your snack!” she said loudly and quickly.
“Well I suppose it’s alright because I found it lying on the floor in the playground.”
“Oh I knew I was forgetting something.”
“Just promise never to steal again.”
“I promise.”
