Fast asleep on a cold damp hardwood floor of an abandoned two story house lay a young woman, at only 18 she had nowhere to go, her parents tragically killed in a car accident weeks ago and no family around to turn to.
She wore a red shirt that was torn and dirty, faded blue jeans with rips and tears all over, her skin pale white as if she hadn't been in the sun for years, her hair long and wavy looked almost a dark brown from all the dirt, makeup smeared on her face as if she had been crying.
The sun began to peak through the dirty glass on the window, she slowly opened her green eyes, they glistened in the sunlight. She slowly stood up, picked up a small black book bag and headed down the stairs. as she neared the bottom of the stairs she heard a strange noise coming from a room, she hurried down the last few stairs and reached for the doorknob, a deep voice sent chills down her spine, she closed her eyes and turned around. In a door way to what seemed to be a family room stood a tall white man, he was pale and skinny with short dark black hair that looked very silky like if it rained the rain would just run off. his eyes were dark and made her feel as if he could pierce right through her with them, he wore a long sleeved black shirt that looked to be freshly pressed, his jeans were black without a speck of dirt on them.
What is your name? he said with a deep voice.
Scarlett, she replied, her voice sounding weak.
why are you here, he asked voice still very deep.
I have nowhere else to go sir, I'm terribly sorry, I thought this home was abandoned, I'll be sure to leave immediately.
As Scarlett turned to walk away the man spoke up and said, the name is dawson, I'm sorry to have scared you, please join me, I'd love some company.
scared and weak she turned back to face him and she followed him into the family room. There he sat on a old dirty green couch and patted the spot next to him. Scarlett felt nervous but dawson some how made her feel safe so she sat beside him. they talked for hours on how she became to be homeless and what her plans from here would be. Scarlett had no idea, she didn't have a job or a car or anyone there for her. dawson leaned over and gave her a hug and said he would be there as himself also was alone and he liked her company, she made him smile, and she too liked his company, he was sweet, his voice made her weak, she couldn't help but think they would be perfect together, he made her feel safe.
Days went by, Scarlett and dawson grew very fond of each other, they were so comfortable with each other, like they were best friends. As they sat on the couch on a rainy night dawson said, I have a secret I've never shared with anyone before and I feel like you will not run from me and you will understand. Scarlett's heart began to race, she was scared to know a secret if it was so dark he would think she would run from him, but she nodded and waited to hear what he had to say.
Scarlett I'm not what you think, I am of something darker.
Scarlett began to tremble inside with fear, was he a murderer she thought, but dawson was so sweet that couldn't be it.
I am a vampire he said, Scarlett laughed and laughed but to her shock dawson looked so serious like he actually believed he was a vampire.
She paused and stood up, dawson I'm sorry but you need help. I can try to get you some if you want.
dawson stood quickly. I am not a liar I'm not crazy, and then his eyes went completely black and he opened his mouth and much to her surprise there were fangs.
Scarlett screamed and tried to run but dawson grabbed her and wouldn't let her run. I'm not going to hurt you, I promise scarlett, don't run away from me, we are meant to be, I can feel it, please stay with me.
Scarlett calmed down and said, I trust you. she sat back down, thoughts running through her mind, so many of them that she couldn't even make them out.
